Capcom, SNK, and Dimps veteran Takashi Nishiyama comes out of hiding to discuss his history, the making of Street Fighter, and Dimps' future.

So, with no fan fare at all, 1UP.com’s finally was fixed and its digital archives were finally done. This means I can finally show literally one of the greatest fighting game interviews ever. Even if you don’t love SF4, its a really fascinating read about Nishiyama’s experience with SF, Garou, and Dimps in general. If you love fighting games in anyway , you owe yourself to give this a read.

I fell in love with my favorite fighting game franchise for all the right reasons. It was fast, frantic, flashy and groundbreaking. Now, after nearly 20 years together, it's time for me to face the truth--my favorite fighting game franchise is an exhibitionist, and I'm not okay with it.

So again, this a Kotaku editorial (A slightly NSFW one at that). Again, I understand that this might not be for everyone...but man this article hits the nail on the head.The fact that Last Round isn't a headline game at most tournaments bothers the fuck out of me because its a tournament ready game...that has a serious image problem. And even if you ignore the competitive part of it, DOA 5 is a great fighting game that is ignored by most people because of its outrageous focus on looks.

Pokémon: Type Wild isn't just any Pokémon fan game. It's a more intense, Street-Fighteresque take on the pocket monster series, and you should totally check it out if you haven't yet.

Holy cow, did Eventhubs just write an editorial, and really good one at that? In seriousness though, this is what fighting games really need more of. Not more combo videos, not more rumor latching on too, not more weird art posts. Not to say those don't matter (well the weird art I'm sure we could without) but we need more editorials and similar things that show all of the different dimensions of the FGC. I tip my non-existent hat to you, Ryan 'Tryken' Tullis and EventHubs.
