Marketing tips to make the most of your Food Hygiene Rating Scheme score
You put in all the effort to strive for a 5 so make it work for you!
1. Display the sticker
Just because it's not legal in England consumers are being asked to look for it so make sure it's in your window.
2. Go digital
Use the Food Standard Agency's (FSA) Business Toolkit for web banners, images and widgets that tell those searching online you are a 5.
3. Check out your competition - go to https:/ratings.food.gov.uk to see what score your competitors have.
4. Share the many FSA YouTube films to your customer mailing list announcing your score and educating your customers to check ratings before they book elsewhere.
5. Include your hygiene rating in your email signature block or on bookings software that generates an automated response to the customer.
6. Add the image to your photo album on TripAdvisor or other food business review site.
7. Include as part of a photo or a pinned post on your social media profiles.
8. Use your FHRS success as a reason to celebrate and run an offer or special menu.
9. Thank the team and recognise the part they play, ask them to spread the word and keep up the good work with food hygiene and safety training for new starters.
10. Include your score in printed or online vacancy adverts, so candidates know how important it is to you too.
