#fiber pit

I've been slowly realizing over the last few months that a lot of the issues I've been struggling with in crochet, especially with tension and gauge and working into chains, stem from the fact that the person who helped motor me through the earliest stages of learning to crochet specialized in amigurumi. The more I'm learning to keep a lighter but still stable tension, the easier a lot of this has gotten - especially on my poor arthritic hands!

me, a couple years ago: well oKAY then I guess, um, gods. still not interested in the magic stuff and also seidr looks super intimidating.

(cut to me getting interested in spinning. and then dying. and then knitting. I blame @systlin)

me, a year and a half ago: no Old Man I am not going to try that seidr stuff. this fiber stuff is fun though! maybe if I like... add a particular sort of focus almost like meditation while making certain things? and do that from initial spinning to final product...?

(joke is, of course, on me)

@systlin I feel like you and your fiber pit would enjoy this creator. I disagree with her evaluation of Bridgeton though, lol. It’s great, it’s like a mashup of gossip girl, Cinderella, and every Jane Austen book but by Shonda Rhimes so there’s lots of POC. It’s good fun if you like period pieces and drama, which I occasionally do.
