Digimon Adventure - Chinese pop up shop collab - Passport cases
This is the most official we have ever gotten for the kids birthdays! Let’s take a look~ Seasons based on the Japanese calendar!
Jyou - 2/02 - February 2nd - Winter (December/Februrary)
Taichi - 3/17 - March 17th - Spring (March/May)
Sora - 6/18 - June 18th - Summer (June/August/September)
Hikari - 6/30 - June 30th - Summer (June/August/September)
Takeru - 6/30 - June 30th - Summer (June/August/September)
Yamato - 7/20 - July 20th - Summer (June/August/September)
Koushirou - 8/04 - August 4th - Summer (June/August/September)
Mimi - 11/25 - November 25th - Autumn (Sept/October/November)
I’d love to cross examine the theory posts about when their birthdays were now, looking at this. The implications of Hikari and Takeru sharing a birthday is very interesting.
Shoutout to Destinydigitama for helping me out in the morning by tracking this down for me from a blurry screenshot! Couldn’t have found it without your help <3
look, I know there was a gtv video or something in insta a while ago where Vanessa gave us a tour of the buses, but I just found this and it goes into more detail (especially for things like sleeping areas and layout) and I reckon this’ll be pretty handy for fic purposes
Ever wondered who ended up with who in the epilogue, and what they named their children? Well I sure did. This is by no means canon, and just something I dedicated a bit too much time to for roleplay and fanfic purposes. Anyone reading this is welcome to adopt the names or anything I’ve put together here, which is why I’m putting it up publicly. I did most of these write-ups a while ago and they were done with certain ships in mind. This is just for fun, and I’d love to hear anyone’s opinion or theories or headcanons alike in regards to the epilogue.
As a quick disclaimer with the names, and how I chose them, I went with the same method (mostly) for how they named the parents in Digimon. By picking the voice actors names, but choosing different kanji for them. It’s an easy out, so I took some liberties with some, using only one of their kanji while keeping partial meaning to the original name.
I also made up a potential list of digivolution lines that might work for them! There’s 13 kids but only 12 go on their adventure, so do with that what you will. There are 12 Devas and 12 Olympus Digimon, so that could be a fun route to go.
Name: Reiko
Kanji: 礼倖
Meaning: gratitude, happiness
Nickname: Musuko, Kokkun
Age: 9-12
(reasoning: voice actors name, and a pun. Daisuke seems to have moved to America, and an easy “English” name for him would be Ray, and Ray-ko (ko as in child) get it? He would never stop with the jokes. Musuko (which means child in Japanese, as does ko lol) seems like the type to enjoy old vintage toys and would definitely own a paper fortune teller. He’s the goggle boy so he’s the “leader” but not entirely. He’s easy to get along with, but would crumble if someone disagreed with him. He’s the most well behaved child of the group, “raised right” as some would say. Probably knows how to cook a little bit.)
(potential candidates for Daisuke: Hikari, Wallace, Wallace’s sister(?) Amy, Takeru)
Chibimon
V-mon
Yakasmon (purity digimental)
Gargomon (light digimental)
Manticoremon
Name: Umi
Kanji: 宇見
Meaning: space/universe, see/look
Nickname: Umi-chan
Age: 5-9
(reasoning: voice actors names, and I literally could not pass up the reference to space. Not only that but Umi itself also does means ocean, and she seems just as curious as her father. Plus you have to admit “Umi Izumi” rolls off the tongue. To me I see her as a bit of a brat, seemingly spoiled but probably wishes she had more time with her parents. Since she’s curious by nature, she probably gets in a lot of trouble for wandering off, and probably collects rocks and leaves as “samples”. Despite knowing a lot of ‘useless’ cool facts, she probably lacks common knowledge, especially pertaining to friendship and the like. She picks on all the boys.)
(potential candidates for Koushirou: Taichi, Menoa, Mimi)
Mochimon
Dokunemon
Butterflamon (knowledge digimental)
Kuwagamon
Vademon
EBEmon
Name: Akihiro
Kanji: 明泰
Meaning: bright, calm
Nickname: Kihiro/Hiro
Age: 9-12
(reasoning: anagram of voice actors name, hard to pass up Hiroaki, plus it can be seen in universe as Takeru naming his son after his own father. I see this boy as very independent, or at least he wants to be, and can be a sore loser and a crybaby. Gets picked on by Umi, and sees Hisato as an older brother (even if they aren’t related) Has darkness in his heart, likely from Takeru’s own closeness to it.)
(Potential candidates for Takeru: Hikari, Daisuke, Catherine(would know French!), Meiko(?), any girl in their school probably)
Tokomon
Tsukaimon
Rinkmon (friendship digimental)
Moosemon (hope digimental)
Devimon
Name: Hisato
Kanji: 一恵
Meaning: one, blessing/grace
Nickname: Hisa
Age: 12-14
(reasoning: giving him the kanji for ichi gives the impression that she maybe wants more than one kid, plus, it gives her a small bridge to her brother. He means the world to Hikari and she almost lost him in Tri. This boy, being one of the oldest, seems rather reliable, but probably harbors a darkness inside him like his mom, likely stemming from not wanting to be a burden just like she struggled with. He seems like he would tease everyone relentlessly with a smile. Since him and Akihiro have darkness, it would be cool (I think) for them to jogress into some kind of mastemon or boltbaltomon evolution)
(Potential candidates for Hikari: Takeru, Daisuke, Wallace, one of Taichi’s soccer mates, one of the poi brothers(would know Chinese!)
Salamon
Blackgatomon
Warumonzaemon
Shinmonzaemon
Name: Daigo (ダイゴ)
Kanji: 醍悟
Meaning: essence, realization
Nickname:
Age: 4-6
(reasoning: if Taichi had met his untimely fate in Tri, it would have been a race for every Digi destined in his group to have the first kid to name them after him. Given that Daigo likely meant the most to him (and Meiko), and that even if Tri is questionably canon at this point, he did not make an appearance in Beyond, it would make the most sense for him to name his kid this. He’s also young, so it likely was a not a spontaneous decision. I see this kid as being the most emotionally mature and stable, since his father is likely a mess when he’s home. His parents would likely not sugar coat anything with him, so in turn he is very attuned to everyone in his own group. He probably has the saddest sounding cry though.)
(potential candidates for Taichi: Meiko(he would say dandan, very cute), Koushirou, Catherine(would know French!), Sora, Nemoto(his friend from Kizuna))
Koromon
Blackagumon
Tyranomon
Brachimon
UltimateBrachimon
Name: Yuuya
Kanji: 優夜
Meaning: gentle/kind, night
Nickname:
Age: 5-7
(reasoning: taking part of both voice actors names, and with how they are I would assume they would be naming their children in a less traditional manner but keeping them connected, and leaving room for if they decided to have more. Yuutsuki seems like she would be a real go-getter like her mom, happy to take the mantle of leader when needed, while Yuuya seems more shy. They probably get along best with Akihiro and Daigo.)
(potential candidates for Yamato and Sora: they are married your honor but I am listening)
Yuutsuki’s
Pyocomon
Luxmon
Harpymon (light digimental)
Parrotmon
Name: Rin
Kanji: 凛
Meaning: dignity
Nickname: Riri
Age: 10-14
(reasoning: Honestly out of all the years I’ve been with Digimon this was the ONLY name I have ever seen anyone in the Japanese fandom give to one of the kids, so I ran with it. She seems like she pursues information and acts on logic a lot more “by the book” than Umi would, and thus would be the most cautious out of the group, often bringing up the pros and cons of each situation until people either listen to her or ignore her lol. )
(potential candidates for Iori: He had a girlfriend canonically mentioned so I’m sure it was her but,,)
Upamon
Gizamon
Drimogamon
Rhinomon (miracle digimental)
Jyagamon
Name: Shunta (シュンタ)
Kanji: 洵太
Meaning: sincerity, big
Nickname: Tacchan
Age: 12-13
(reasoning: Jyou is the only one in his family to have kanji in his name, so I’ve taken the liberty to give his son both options while keeping the “shi/shu” motif from the siblings. I gave him the esteemed “ta” that almost every Digimon protagonist has, because I think Jyou would have wanted him to be as tough as he saw Taichi, who they all trusted to be their leader. (Plus, having multiple characters with the traits of “leader” is more fun, I think) He seems like he would be pretty quiet, maybe cagey, but very kind. He would probably be overprotective of everyone)
(Potential candidates for Jyou: Jun, the bike girl from Diaboromon strikes back, his girlfriend from Tri, Sora(?), Mimi)
Bukamon
Gomamon
Orcamon (sincerity digimental)
Coelamon
Hangyomon
Name: Murphy
Kanji: (マーフィー)
Meaning: sea warrior
Nickname: Murmur
Age: 10-13
(reasoning: Mimi lives in America now, so her son(?) likely was born there, and therefore does not get kanji in his name as it’s an English name. Mimi’s name is interesting, so I tried to give him a mnemonic nickname like hers. He seems like the ‘cool’ type, given that his mom is very much into fashion and bringing the world/culture together, he seems like he would be fine with changing his fashion style every week, and not care what anyone says. He’s probably also very blunt, and not afraid to speak his mind clearly, even if it comes off as selfish.)
(potential candidates for Mimi: Michael, Wallace, Jyou, Koushirou, Taichi)
Tanemon
Alraumon
Vegimon
Tropiamon
Bloomlordmon
Raffleisamon
Name: Hibito
Kanji: 響士
Meaning: resonance, samurai
Nickname: Bito, Bingo
Age: 6-8
Name: Mitsuru
Kanji: 三弦
Meaning: three, bowstring/crescent moon
Nickname: Mi-chan
Age: 0-2
(reasoning: A slight joke. I struggled to get their names to match up with colors and things that sounded right, but opted for referencing the parents’ interests while their newest addition was more like a, “Ah, maybe we should go the traditional route,,” as if they have more children in mind (lol) Akari is best friends with Rin. She doesn’t want to be anyone’s first pick for something adventurous, but likely has a loud voice/opinion. As one of the oldest, she probably bears a lot of responsibility, but gets teased by Hisato for being scatter-brained. Hibito on the other hand wants to be a real life samurai, like Hawkmon. The first to run into danger, probably. (Might also embarrassingly use samurai-speak))
(potential candidates for Miyako and Ken: they are also married your honor, but I am all ears)
Akari’s
Poromon
Parasaurmon
Hippogriffmon
Griffomon
Silco was a very special character. During the early phase of development, we talked about everyone's chip on their shoulder. Silco's was being "the dirty little thing". Never being enough. Always having topside look down on him. He could never quite past it, and if it would take his life to escape that existence, so be it. He had nothing to lose.
At the end of the season, he realizes far too late what it's like to have something to lose. Just like Vander, radical notions begin to stumble when your loved ones are threatened by your ideology. "It all makes sense now, brother."
I don't think he had a plan after the Nation of Zaun. It was an impossible pipe dream from the beginning, and if you ask me, achieving it would probably have ruined him.
We did not expect Silco to become such a fan favorite. Jason Spisak did such a wonderful job, it's hard to put in words just how transformative his performances have been.
