Bare vs Bear
So one way to be sure you're using the right homophone (which are the destroyers of culture) is to use their secondary meaning to see if that makes sense in context. Bare (the verb) is getting nekkid but also exposing Bear (the verb, often shied away from thx to bear the noun) is to carry something but also to endure something. So. "He found the ordeal too much to ________." And "It hurt to see his past transgressions laid ________ for his family to see." Spoken language obv homophones are THE SAME. But reading is a bastard because there is a difference. So put naked in both blanks, then put carry/endure. See how it becomes more obvious?
