There is a candidate named Tiffany G. in the current Ao3 board elections with a pro-censorship position for getting Ao3 unbanned in China. This is ship and kink agnostic: the only way to get Ao3 unbanned in China would be the removal of all explicit queer content to bring it in line with the online censorship policies of the CCP Pre-ban, Chinese writers used Ao3 to host LGBTQ+ and explicit content due to being censored on Chinese websites, and writers of danmei (m/m) stories have been sent to prison in China for publishing queer content.

There are 3 seats, and 5 candidates (including her) so she has an actual chance to get elected. If you’ve contributed $10 in the past year and have eligibility to vote in this election, it is essential that you do so. Please check your e-mail for the ballot and vote for everyone except Tiffany in whichever order you prefer based on their stances.

You’re always welcome to browse my fic rec tag, I’m a bit hesitant to say “favorite” since I have a lot, a lot of favorites, but I’ll just send out some love to these ten fics in these categories:

favorite fic to make me cry que tu m’aimais encore by magneticwave (T, 20k) Wolves mate for life, don’t they? 

favorite emotional rollercoaster Cornerstone by Vendelin (E, 83k) Suffering from PTSD, ex-Marine Derek Hale moves back to Beacon Hills to open a bookshop and find a calmer life. That’s where he meets Stiles, completely by accident. Stiles is talkative, charming and curious. Somehow, despite the fact that he’s blind, he’s able to read Derek like no one else.

favorite kid fic Lord knows it would be the first time by uraneia (E, 12k) Stiles is home from Berkeley for the summer, but only because he promised the pack. He’d rather not see Derek, because whatever the thing was that they were doing, they’re not doing it anymore, and it sucks. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have a choice. The betas tried a magical remedy for Derek’s melancholy, and now Stiles has a three-year-old who looks like Derek. Stiles doesn’t know how to deal with that, and he definitely doesn’t know how to tell the betas he and Derek were secret fuck buddies for a year and a half.

I had the vague idea that Something Had Happened back on Lykanthas, perhaps an assassin nearly succeeded in killing Derek’s parents (or maybe did succeed in killing his father), and it was discovered that said assassin had been hired by a woman who’d been spending quite a bit of time with Prince Derek…

Well, after all that, Queen Talia thought it might be best if Derek take some time away from the planet. Nothing else had helped, and she thought maybe if he had something to do, something that required all of his intellect and would take him somewhere fewer people knew who he was, Derek might start to heal a bit more.

She didn’t expect him to jump at the suggestion with quite that much–well, it wasn’t really excitement, but it was relief, which told her it had probably been a good idea.

So she gets him a new ID and finds a few basic interpreter jobs: handling some simple negotiations, translating at some small conferences, that kind of thing.

And it seems to be working. It hurts not to see her baby boy every day, but Derek seems happier when she does see him. Lighter, like he’s not carrying as much weight.

And when Queen Talia sees that the prince of Terithon VI needs an interpreter for marriage negotiations, she suggests that Derek take the job. It’s been years since she’s seen Prince Stiles, but she recalls he was a bright, intelligent boy with a quick laugh and a quicker smile, and it would likely do Derek good to know him.

When, months later, she gets the official contract on her desk detailing a marriage between Prince Stiles and Derek, Queen Talia is pleased, but admittedly, not surprised.
