Quill’s first date with Red.
Quill mindlessly kicked her legs back and forth over the edge of the pier, low-key checking herself out in the reflection of the ocean below her. She was wearing a space-patterned skirt, a black shirt, and combat boots. She looked good, at least, she thought so, hopefully her date would too. “Hey there, Sweetcheeks.” Quill looked up to see the face of a grinning skeleton looking back down at her.
“Hay is for horses.” She replied tartly.
Sans snorted as Quill stood up, dusting herself off. “Alright Quill. So what is there to do at this pier you’ve been braggin’ about?”
Quill stared incredulously at her date. “You’re kidding right?” She asked. “We’re at the Navy Pier in Chicago. There’s literally tons of things to do.”
“Yeah?” Sans said. “Prove it.”
“I will.” Quill then turned on her heel and marched forward, Sans trailing behind her. When he saw where she was leading him however, he immediately began grumbling.
“A boat ride?” He said incredulously. “That’s the first thing on you’re list?”
Quill glanced behind her. “If you don’t complain for the entire ride then we can get hot dogs after.”
One boat ride and three hot dogs later(Sans said he deserved an extra one because Quill took every opportunity to splash him with water), Quill and Sans are wandering around the pier. Quill insists that if they walk for long enough, soon enough they’ll find something interesting. Sans thinks Quill is full of shit. But sure enough, Quill stops and grins. Turning to Sans, she points in front of them and says “Let’s do that next.”
Sans raises a browbone and asks “Amazing Chicago Funhouse Maze?”
“Yep!” Quill replies happily. “Come on it’ll be fun!” She says as she drags Sans to the maze.
It was fun; for Quill at least. Sans, who had just eaten two street-vendor hot dogs did not fair so well. Thankfully, he didn’t actually throw up, but by the time they left, he was not in the best of moods. Quill, who by now felt a little bad, suggested they go on the Ferris Wheel, figuring it would be relaxing. “Yeah, because going in a circle isn’t what got me into this in the first place.” Sans snarked.
“You can sit down.” Quill pointed out.
Sans had to admit, the Ferris Wheel was relaxing, not to mention how cool it was to see everything from up so high. Quill noticed Sans enjoying the view and asked “So I guess you didn’t have a completely terrible time huh?”
“Yeah, well...” Sans replied. “I guess it helps that I’m in good company.” Quill grinned at the implied compliment, and without any warning, leaned forward and planted a kiss on Sans cheek. Sans was stunned for a moment, then he got a mischievous look on his face, and said “Heh. I think you missed there Sweetheart. Here, let me help you out...” With that, Sans cupped Quill’s cheek with one hand and landed a surprisingly soft kiss on her lips. Quill smiled into it, thinking to herself: Nope. Not terrible at all.
