1 SAMUEL S.O.A.P. ~ CHAPTER 31
The battle was fierce around Saul.
When the archers located him, they wounded him badly.
~ 1 Samuel 31:3
At first I had to read this chapter a couple of times...
...nothing really "spoke to me..."
...and then this verse "eased" forward...
Made me realize the battle is fierce around me!
The enemy's archers know right where I am...
...right where my weaknesses are...
...and they take aim to wound me, to keep me from being who the Lord wants me to be...
This ending to Saul's life, to his story, has its roots, its beginning, in his small disobediences, that grew into larger ones over time...
Be aware of the fierce battle around me...
Pay attention to even the smallest disobedience...
...the smallest selfishness...
...the smallest distraction...
Protecting Father God - May I be forgiven for my willfulness and selfishness in following my wants and the distractions aimed at my weaknesses... and for not leaning into the Holy Spirit's protective strength but instead trying to shield myself on my own terms... Thank You for opening Your Word to me and I pray that I have seen what You've said in the way You intended, and that I may apply this to all the things that lay before me today... In Jesus's Name, and for Your glory, not my own...
For Him... for you... for yours...
This wraps up 1 Samuel... and I figured we'd just roll into 2 Samuel Monday...
