Grace entered for the first time 5 hours ago Grace: (fucking CHarles) Charles: Before we get started there's a few different rolls I would like you to make. I want you to roll the d20 5 times and tell me the numbers. No plusses are added to these rolls Grace: Roll1:(12) Roll2:(17) Roll3:(3) Roll4:(4) Roll5:(12) Grace: (IT MAKES SMILES gah... I was trying to make it neat....) Charles: reroll number 5 Charles: cause duplicates Grace: Roll 5 Redo- 14 Charles: okay. give me one moment Grace: No problem! Charles: As you step into the room within the ministry you see a familiar face. It's Charles, and he grins at you the same way he had in the first event. "Good Morning, Grace." He states, plainly. This time there are windows in the room and you notice that it is, in fact, early in the morning. "I hope you solved the riddle in your puzzle box?" Grace: Grace had been through hell and back. Each event had pushed her and changed her in small, and big ways. As she stepped into the room she nearly snapped at the man that was there. Though he wasn't worth the energy- she feared she had greater problems ahead. "Morning... yes, I believe so." Charles: He smiles, taking your lack of response to his last question as a yes, or perhaps a maybe. Either way, it doesn't matter. He turns and gestures to the room before you, showing piles and piles of things scattered about the place of all sorts. "Your one boon, you are granted, to take with you for this trial. You may choose whatever you wish, and... Accio does work here. Finding the item is not the trial." He chuckles. Grace: Grace looked at the piles and then looked back at him. "Does my wand count as my one boon.. or do I get to keep that as well as one other item to my choosing?" Charles: Charles grows a big smile, "Clever girl. Your wand counts, yes." Grace: Grace nodded. "I've learned to not just to an answer right away without thinking. Thanks for that I guess - So ... I can keep my wand and..." Grace looked around the room at the many different things "Something else? Like... this gallon of water? or thing of rope? I just want to be sure before I make a final choice.." Charles: Charles shakes his head, "Your wand counts as a boon, and as the riddle states you only get one. But, I am glad you've grown so much during these trials. You're definitely not the same girl I interviewed, and I would take that as a compliment. You're far stronger, now... I believe you can make it through this one." Taking a deep breath, Charles turns and walks over to a rather plain looking door, save for the various swirls and swoops drawn on it in arabic art styling. "Now, Grace, it is time for your trial. You have one full day to make it across the terrain to a set of ruins. Within these ruins is a portkey. It will take you back here, safely... so long as you remain safe during the course of your event. Healers will be available to you as soon as you arrive." Charles: "If you fail to reach the portkey by nightfall, well.... That is when the spell runs out." Grace: Grace nodded softly. "I'll take my wand than." She said softly. Hopefully it would come into handy versus the other things within the room. All she could hope was she could push through this last part. "Thank you... I've seen a lot of improvement in myself as well, which is weird." Shaking her head she looked at the door and just nodded. Looking around the room she took in a deep breath. "I'm... ready." Charles: Charles opens the door, leading out into a scorching sandy expanse of endless dunes. "Good luck, then." Charles changed name to MOD Grace: Grace nodded. As much as she wanted to hit him for how awful this whole thing started she was glad to have him send her off on a somewhat good note. "Thank you." Grace put her game face on and headed out - ready to face whatever lied ahead of her. MOD: [ Be warned for this trial you will not be told what to do, and your roleplaying and ingenuity will dictate what happens within. Be perceptive, if that is in your character's capabilities, and be ready to think, if that is also within your character's personality. ] Grace: (oh goodness, alright..) MOD: The door closes behind you, and all around you simply see the dunes and emptiness. MOD: To your right you spot a single table with a stone arrow lying atop it pointing out in front of you. Mod Observer Ghan entered for the first time 4 hours ago MOD: (Mel's computer broke down. She'll be back in a moment) Grace joined the chat 4 hours ago Grace: Grace looked around the area. It was a bit scary to be looking around at nothing for miles, but she didn't come this far to fall apart now. Looking ahead she saw nothing, the left was the same, but the right held promise. Looking at the table she made her way over, an arrow. That was as good of a hint as she would ever get in this area. Grace decided to follow through and follow it's direction. Grace: (sorry about that). MOD You walk for a while, feeling the heat already on your skin. The air is devoid of any water as you trek onward. You see mountains, perhaps, in the very, very far distance. As you continue, suddenly, you hear a low rumble from behind you and the sound of sand shifting Grace: Grace did her best to keep a steady pace. Of course she wanted to move quickly to beat nightfall, but the fear that she would over work herself and tire out quickly was in the back of her mind. Though she didn't move super slow either. Hearing the rumble Grace stopped as she turned around towards the sound. Swallowing thickly she kept her feet moving, small steps backwards just to keep making some sort of distance. MOD: High above you, you see a large stone creature gliding over the air as if it were nothing. It has many flipper like appendages that dip into the sand, creating large gouges wherever it flies that slowly fill and create the dunes. At first it doesn't seem to see you, but soon it's eyes go from a light blue to a reddish and it lets out a low rumbling growl, almost sounding stone-like. MOD: http://im.ziffdavisinternational.com/ign_in/screenshot/default/sotc-2_zwt3.jpg Grace: Grace's heart stopped at the sight above her. If she didn't already feel small, she sure did now. Her feet stopped moving, maybe if she didn't move it wouldn't see her. Though quickly that changed as she noticed the color change in her eyes. "No.. No...No... " She mumbled to herself. The growl wasn't much of a help either. Grace quickly grabbed her wand trying to think as quickly as possible. Biting her lip she pointed her wand to herself in attemps to use the disillusionment charm and make herself invisable MOD: Roll Wisdom to cast. Grace joined the chat 4 hours ago Grace: Roll: 17+1 MOD: You successfully cast the spell, concealing yourself. The large dragon still heads in your direction, however as it flies overhead the sand its flippers push around rolls around you. It continues forward, flying with the long expanse of it's body above you, and slowly begins to turn. Roll Perception. MOD: sorry MOD: ill MOD: will MOD: agh. Wisdom. Goddamn Grace: So roll wisdom? Grace: Roll:19+1 MOD: (good one) Grace: (i battle cry for each roll ... my husband thinks Im playing WoW). MOD: You spot that along the fins that ride into the sand there are deep horizontal grooves that aren't spaced very far apart. Along the top of it, despite the rocky texture of everything else, is a soft almost mossy looking hair. Grace: Grace looked up taking in everything she could about the body that was above her. Would jumping on help her move quicker? At least give her body a moment to rest? Though she feared it could take her in the wrong direction. All Grace knew is she couldn't sit here like a waiting duck. Moving quickly Grace went for it trying her best to grab hold of a groove and get on one of the fins. MOD: The groove is a bit far away from you now MOD: You'd have to run after it, as the beast is flying Grace: Grace flopped a bit in the sand trying to gain a good footing before running after the fins to try and catch a lift. MOD: Roll Dexterity Grace: Roll:16+2 MOD: You run after the creature, having some difficulty because of the sand that rolls away from the fins, but eventually come near it. The creature appears to be circling about, searching for you, but does have a wide turning radius Grace: Grace kept her pace as well as looking up to try and keep from his view in hopes he wouldn't see her foot prints in the sand. As she came closer to the grooves she reached out to grab hold and jump on. MOD: Roll Strength Grace: Roll:20-1 MOD: Nat 20! MOD: You jump and grasp onto the fin, and the creature lets out a low rumbling roar as it notices, slowly lifting the fin up into the air. Roll Strength to stay on. Grace: (...?) Grace: Roll:9-1 MOD: You Slip and fall off of the fin as it rises, thankfully you weren't far up off the ground and landed on the sand. The great stone creature lifts up higher into the air, spinning around above and slowly gliding back down, across the sand, and toward you. It's fins lower once more as it glides low. Its eyes glow orange once more as it looks in your direction, letting loose a growl as a mouth slowly begins to open. Grace: Grace tried her best to keep silent as she hit the sand. Looking up at the giant creature she shook her head softly. Grace couldn't just give up. Instead of getting to her feet she rolled to the side at least out of its range and ducked under it's body. Grace truly wasn't sure what to do, she couldn't out run it, and getting on it he noticed her touch. Grace ran from under the body incase it came down on her next move. Pulling her wand out again she held it towards the creature. "Forgive me." She said softly before casing an unforgivable. "Avada Kedavra" MOD A small greenish explosion goes off, but the beast only growls in anger and speeds up, his mouth gaping wider as it comes near you. You may roll Dex to dodge it. (The reason this doesn't work is because Grace has never cast this spell before in her life. It is one of the most powerful spells there are and thus is likely difficult to cast. Also it takes a lot of emotional power to cast, like all unforgivables. Imperius takes a large willpower to control, Cruciatus takes a large desire to inflict pain, and Killing Curse takes a desire for death.) MOD: (or likely malice for the target) MOD: (Mods are disallowing it for Grace's use at this time because she has literally never tried to use it before, unless she's been practicing on Denahi's cats on the DL) Grace: (makes sense!! omg no not the cats HAHAH) Roll: 14+2 MOD: (Cats bit quoth Ghan) You leap to the side as the large dragon-like creature swoops down and you hear the snap of it's jaws. The sand shifts around you and you're nearly covered by it as the creature speeds away, ready to turn back around for another attempt. Grace: Grace shut her eyes at the sound of snapping jaws. As she felt the sand over her she quickly wiggling out of it and stood back up. Truthfully she had no idea what she was suppose to do, but she ran the opposite direction looking over a list of spells in her head to try and manage to escape it. MOD: The creature takes its time turning about, though as it spots your direction it begins to glide over once more. Grace: Grace looked behind her. It was nice to have speed over the creature though she notice it coming back and Grace raised her wand. "Immoblulus" She shouted hoping if she could get it to stop moving she could keep her pace running from it. MOD: The creature's body sputters to a halt as it's eyes go orange. It waits MOD: Your invisibility spell also dissipates by now Grace: Grace kept moving as she watched it's body stop moving. That was one good point for her. Raising her wand again she bit her lip thinking of something simple to help her escape "Conjunctivitis!". Grace may be able to be seen by now, but maybe if she damaged it's eyesight she could wiggle free. MOD: You hit the dragon. Roll Dexterity to continue running. Grace: Roll: 12+2 MOD: You run, moderately fast, as the dragon continues to twitch under the spell. MOD: Roll again Grace: Grace kept looking over her shoulder to make sure she was okay. Roll: 9+2 MOD: You slow, noticeably. The Dragon slowly begins to break free from your holding curse Grace: "Fuck" grace grumbled as she kept moving. Grace knew she had some time before it caught up so she tried her best to just keep moving. Already plotting out her next moves in the event it caught up to her. MOD: Roll Dex Grace: Roll:19+2 MOD You speed up for the final leg of the journey, putting quite a bit of distance between you and the dragon. All that running, however, causes you to evaluate your breathing. Roll Constitution Grace: Roll:13+2 MOD: You are somewhat out of breath, and though your mouth is very dry it is not quite at dire circumstances yet. MOD: Roll Intelligence to realign yourself with your direction Grace: Roll:18+0 MOD You look about, determining where you need to go, and go off in the direction you believe was the same one. Continuing onward for quite a ways, you begin to feel the heat and lack of water more and more. Just as you wander over one of the dunes, a cactus stands out to you in a small cluster. Grace: Grace looked forward and sighed softly as she saw a cactus. She didn't remember what show it was, but she saw somewhere they hold water. Of course she wanted to bolt, but she couldn't do that to her body, not yet. Grace moved towards the cactus, chewing on her lip as to how to get into it with nothing but her wand. "hm... Diffindo." She said with a matter of fact hoping to cut it in half in some way, splitting at the seams. MOD: You cast upon one of the cacti and split it open. A piece falls to the ground Grace: Grace grinned, as she went to pick the piece off the ground she almost didnt care of the sand that was on it, but quickly brushed it off before putting the inside part of the cacti to her lips in hopes to draw out some water MOD: You just barely get a sip, before suddenly a pain errupts through your back. One of the cacti is moving, leaning over to wrap you in it's embrace. It's spikes have begun to pierce your back Grace: Grace let out a sharp cry at the stings through her back. Grace was afraid to jump and rip out of the embrace of the needles, trying her best to not make the cuts any larger than need be, so she shut her eyes tightly and pointed her wand. "Flipendo!" MOD: You pull yourself away, feeling the blood on your back, and shout out the jinx. It hits the creature, knocking it back. Just as you do so, another gouging pain comes at your arm. Grace: Grace whimpered a bit at the sticky mess on her back before letting out another scream. Pointing her want at the next cacti on her arm. Aiming she fires again. "Flipendo!" this time after casting Grace took off away from the small group of cactus she saw to be a safe heaven. MOD: You cast back another monster as the first one begins to rise. As you attempt to run away it gives chase. Raising the arms out in front of it like a deformed twelve-eyed toddler it shoots off a few barbs at you. Roll dex. Grace: (hahahah im sorry but hahaah ) Roll:11+2 MOD: You aren't fast enough, one of the barbs hitting you straight in the side, lodging itself deep. The second cactus gets up and also begins to run at you. The first is nearly upon you. Grace: Grace cried out in pain before turning back around at the closest cacti "Confringo" After her first shot she aimed at the second, firing again. "Confringo!" MOD rolled a die with 20 sides. The die showed: 8 MOD rolled a die with 20 sides. The die showed: 1 MOD: Both are hit, though they continue to rush toward you. The first, now aflame, squeals in pain as it attempts to thrust its gross cactus arms on you. Grace: Grace held just above her side to apply pressure hoping to slow the bleeding just a bit while she fought them off. "Expluso" She screamed aiming at the closes cactus before quickly aiming at the second "Expluso" She hissed a bit at the movement before glaring. "Son of a bitches" She grumbled. Mod Observer Ghan was timed out 2 hours ago MOD rolled a die with 20 sides. The die showed: 11 MOD rolled a die with 20 sides. The die showed: 2 MOD: The first one manages to side-step you, pressing down on you with it's arms, now aflame as well. The second is burst apart. MOD: (Grace really likes being set aflame) Grace: (seriously!LFAJSDIF U) MOD: (She must be gay. ;D ) Grace: Grace screamed. Not only did it hurt, but the fear of fire was taking over as she pointed her want at it "Petrificus Totalus!" Grace: (oh my god.. my child and fire. STAY STRONG GRACE THIS IS THE LAST FREAKING EVENT). Mod Observer Ghan joined the chat 2 hours ago MOD: It freezes, the fire sputtering out on it, though its spines still rested within her shoulder. Grace: Grace didn't want to rip away but the flames were more of a fear than the needles. Ducking enough to free her shoulder she jumped back trying to get away as much as she could from the fire. MOD: Roll Constitution, Grace Grace: Roll:13+2 MOD: You feel a bit woozy with all the blood loss. Your back is bleeding, as well as your shoulder and collar bone area, where there are holes from the spikes, but also your side is bleeding a lot from the spike (I don't remember if you pulled that out or not yet) Grace: Grace looked down and didn't waste time. There wasnt much time for her to really fuss about pulling the spike in her side out. Reaching down she let out a cry and pulled it. Quickly she set her wand against the larger puncher on each she took a breath. "Episkey" MOD: Nothing happens. That's for broken bones MOD: or... well small injuries like toes or noses Grace: (awwww pooop stainnnn) Grace: Grace bit her lip a bit looking over the blood she groaned a bit before trying again. "Ferula" Bandaging them up may be enough till she reached the end. MOD: Roll Wisdom Grace: Roll:15+1 MOD: You cast it, a wave of bandages coming about and wrapping your various wounds. they cinch tight and though they ease some of the pain it doesn't entirely stop the bleeding. You will eventually bleed through these Grace: Grace looked down at them and shook her head. "Fuck" They would have to do for now though until it was too much bleeding through. Shaking her head she looked up again ready to move forward, though she took very close note to check her bandages from time to time. MOD: Roll Constitution Grace: Roll:7+2 MOD: You feel extremely thirsty and tired. Your mouth is entirely dry, and the bleeding isn't helping this. MOD -2 to all rolls in the future. (-1 for your injury and -1 for dehydration and heat exhaustion ) Grace: (oh lord... alright.) Grace: Grace wanted to fall to her knees and call this impossible. Though the voices from the event before filled her with enough spark to keep pushing. There was no giving up for Grace Thorne, not anymore. MOD You proceed onward, continuing through the dunes. It is now midday. Continuing to walk in the heat, sweating and needing to change your bandages at least once, you spot, suddenly, a very small wooden structure. MOD: It appears like no more than a few bits of wood here and there, but it might have been a hut of some kind in the distant past Grace: Grace kept moving. It wasn't easy, but this was the end, she had to keep telling herself after this she would be safe and in bed. Looking up she squinted a bit. Rubbing her eyes she looked forward spotting the structure Grace moved towards it MOD: You walk closer to it. Inside you spot a small chest. Grace: Grace tilted her head as she looked at the small chest. Coming closer to it she reached out slowly to try and open it. MOD: You open it. Roll a d8 to determine what you get Grace: Roll:2 (do I still minus the 2?) MOD: no, not on this one. haha. sorry Grace: (oh! okay no you're fine! haha) MOD: You pull out a gem of some kind, which when taken out of the chest will hit sunlight and shoot a ray of light toward the exit of the desert (aka toward the portkey) Grace: (oh bless the gods). Grace looked at the gem. It was beautiful, but the light shining out of it seemed more promising than the view. Looking up she noticed it had to be mid day, her time was running out. Holding the gem in front of her she let the light guild her. MOD: Roll constitution once more Grace: Roll:13+2-2 ... so 13. MOD: (also I'm getting rid of one of the event rolls because 5 is too damn much. all other players will also roll only 4) Grace: (woo okay! haha I MEAN IM FINE WITH THAT haha) MOD joined the chat 107 minutes ago MOD: You are once more feeling the effects of your dehydration. It's sweltering out and you're not getting any water. You begin to feel a bit faint, but you aren't there yet. You get another -1 to all rolls (total of -3) Grace: (FFAAAHHHHK okay okay) MOD: You proceed through the desert, following the gem. suddenly, you see something dark and black moving across the dunes. It seems small, or it's just far away. Grace: (oh lord pray for grace) Grace looked at the dark object moving. Holding her wand she as ready for whatever it may be. Though she kept moving forward, her eyes never laving the black blobs direction. MOD: It moves closer, though still weaving about the dunes. As you look on, you start to recognize the shape as something bug like Grace: (headbutts a lion) Grace made a face as she looked at the object. "Gross please no." She grumbled as she held her wand up ready for it. MOD: (lol) MOD: Suddenly, the figure stops, and seems to turn toward you. Getting a better look, you really recognize the shape. It's a scorpion. It charges toward you and as it moves back and forth through the dunes toward you, you realize just how large it truly is Grace: (OH FUCK ME) Grace let out another scream as she looked at it. Learning last time from the spells she shot out with the cactus she went right for the bigger spells. "Expulso!" MOD: Roll Wisdom to cast Grace: Roll:3-3. FUCK ME> faoutri MOD: You don't cast anything and it continues to come near you. It's quite a bit bigger than you and now is on the same dune. It's also very fast. Grace: Grace thought quickly and casted another "Immobulus!" MOD: roll wisdom Grace: Roll:16-3. MOD rolled a die with 20 sides. The die showed: 2 MOD: it hits the scorpion, who freezes for a moment before beginning to shake itself free Grace: Grace took the moment it was frozen to cast another. trying again "Expulso!" MOD: roll wisdom Grace: Roll: 14-1 . asldjfasljf Grace: 3 Grace: I mean -3. MOD: You don't cast a strong one, only marring its outer shell. With that the scorpion shakes free and charges toward you. Roll Dex to dodge Grace: Roll:17-3 MOD: You evade one of the claws, roll dex again to dodge Grace: Roll:20-3 (bless you dice, bless you). MOD: The scorpion strikes with it's tail and misses you. Grace: Grace held her wand and tried her best to shoot another spell. "Stupfy!" MOD: roll wisdom Grace: Roll:18-3 MOD: You cast it, hitting the scorpion hard and causing it to reel back for a moment. MOD: Roll Wisdom MOD: i lied MOD: nevermind MOD: don't roll MOD: unless you're casting Grace: (I HAVEN'T BEEN ADDING MY POINTS TO MY THINGS JUST TNE MINUS 3 oh my god, okay, okay, I got this.) Grace looked back at it and shook her head "Petrificus Totalus!" MOD: roll Grace: Roll:17+1-3 MOD rolled a die with 20 sides. The die showed: 3 MOD: you hit it, hardening its outer shell MOD: It will move slower, but not be stopped MOD: its outer shell is also fairly hard now MOD: The scorpion shakes a bit, before charging at you once more Roll Dex Grace: (JUST DIE YOU STPIDfakjs) Roll:18+2-3 MOD: you dodge it. Roll again Grace: Roll:15+2-3 MOD: You dodge the tail as well, as the scorpion hisses at you Grace: Grace could feel the tears on her cheeks as she held her wand up to the beast again. "Fuck you!, Conjunctivitis!" Firing quickly she tried again "Expulso! just die!" MOD: choose one Grace: AHHlasdjlkfj, expulso MOD: roll wisdom Grace: Roll:18+2-3 MOD: You cast it, hitting the scorpion in the side. Some of it's outer shell breaks off, and it hisses in anger. Roll Dex Grace: Roll:13+2-3 MOD: The claw snaps around you, missing your arm but slashing across your shoulder. Roll dex again for the tail Grace: Roll:14+2-3 MOD: it doesn't hit Grace: Grace wiped at her cheek quickly as she pulled her wand out again. "Conjunctivitis." Maybe if he coudn't see she wouldn't have to worry about the tail and she could run off, or hit with more explosions. MOD: roll wisdom Grace: Roll:15+2-3 MOD: You hit it, causing a bit of confusion from the scorpion. It flails about a bit, Roll dex to avoid the flailing. Grace: Roll:20+2-3 MOD: (Also, mel... idk if grace would do this, but like... if you think she'd check the scorpion for weak points then please mention that. or request it ) MOD: (I let it go thinking maybe it was just grace, but like... idk. giving hints to make life easier) MOD: also you dodge Grace: (oh... i didn't even think about that, I mean at this point she would probably notice the parts she broke off of the shell... Bless you! bless yo soul) MOD: (there are others, though) Grace: Grace limped her way around to a side she knew blew off , aiming her wand at a chunk she screamed it "Expulso" MOD: roll wisdom Grace: roll:18+1-3 MOD you hit! the scorpion shatters and begins bleeding out profusely, shaking. Eventually, like any bug, it flops over and the feet curl inward Grace: (I have never been more satisfied killing a bug) Grace jumped a bit. Amazed it worked. For safety measures she casted yet another now that it's under side was accessible "Expulso" She grumbled before moving as quickly as she could away from the thing. MOD: roll Constitution Grace: Roll:12+2-3 MOD: You have lost A LOT of blood and are severely SEVERELY dehydrated and very sun burned. You're beginning to hallucinate. another -2 to all rolls and we'll be doing constitution checks from here on out unless you get some fluids Grace: Grace coughed a bit looked down at her wand she bit her lip. "Aguamenti" MOD: where are you putting this water? MOD: It hits the ground and drys up almost instantly MOD: creativity, grace Grace: Grace's heart broke before looking back. The scorpion. It had a hard enough shell, or at least something she could put water on to lap up. Grace moved back towards it's body. Looking over everything she searched the ground first finding a broken piece she exploded off she pointed towards the shell and casted again. "Aguamenti" MOD: The water splashes into the small bit of shell and pools there. Grace: Grace nearly cried at the sight and started to drink the water, refilling each time she emptied her scorpion cup. MOD: (don't cry, tho. that drains fluid) MOD: You slowly begin to hydrate yourself, feeling better and better by the second. Grace: (SHES HOLDING IT . I mean homegirl is pooling spit to have a nice swallow when she needs it, if she even has spit) Grace: Grace looked around. The scorpion may have been her enemy, and may have also tried to kill her, but it was also helping her more. Taking the cup she filled up till she was able to think properly. Looking at her shoulder she hissed and casted a spell to bandage that one up again. tucking it away she started moving again. MOD: It is approaching evening, now, though not quite sunset. You continue to walk, rejuvinated quite a bit to only -2, since you filled your stomach quite a bit. You seem to see a large structure far in the distance, just as you hear a familiar rumbling Grace: Grace froze as she heard the rumble coming up again. Grace say a bigger structure ahead and started to move much quicker. MOD: Bursting forth from the dunes is the sand dragon, once more, rushing toward you at a speed it hadn't before. Grace: Grace flipped. Looking around she tried to see if there was anything around her she could hide under, or use as protection. MOD: the only thing you have is the scorpion shell in your hand, as well as the gem. there are various sand dunes as well, though the sand is being disturbed by the dragon as it flies by Grace: Grace looked down at the gem. Moving it around a bit as she tried to run she hoped to blind, or distract the dragon with a beam as she kept moving towards the bigger structure. MOD: roll dex Grace: Roll:12+2-2 MOD: You run, though the dragon does spot you, but only for a moment before you direct the beam toward its eyes. It hisses and whirls to one side as you slide down a dune. MOD: (brb, I need something to drink or eat or something) Grace: Grace went for the ride. Sliding down the dune gave her legs a rest. As she moves down she looked up for the sun to direct the gem under it again ready for another distraction as she kept moving towards the larger structure. MOD: (back) MOD: The dragon is circling, though the glint from your light catches its eye as it circles back. Roll dex again Grace: Roll:18+2-2 Mod Observer Ghan was timed out 30 minutes ago MOD: success. once more you blind the dragon, though it is between you and the ruins Mod Observer Ghan joined the chat 29 minutes ago Grace: Grace bit her cheek to keep herself moving. Knowing the gem was working she kept trying to find the light keeping the gem held out. In case it would move Grace started to run in almost a zig zag, not too strong, but nothing of a straight line, hoping with the blinding it would confuse the beast of her standing. Also, who the hell wants to run straight on to a dragon, not this girl nope, not after today. MOD: The dragon keeps swerving, as you do, having to deal with the shimmering in its eyes. However, at some point you will need to go under it. MOD: and move poast it MOD: past Grace: Grace moved the gem to her other hand. moving the light to the other side. Grace held her wand tightly as she made a move for it running under the beast. Once she got under were it's head and mouth was she swerved to come out on the side and not right under his jaws. Instantly shining the gem in his face and moving back to a swerve run. MOD: roll dex like... two times Grace: Roll one: 8+2-2 Roll two:20+2-2 MOD: well, you went very slowly under it, but as soon as you were on the other side you bolted. MOD: The dragon is turning, but the ruins are ahead MOD: roll dex once more to keep ahead of it and seek shelter in the ruins Grace: Roll: 19+2-2 MOD: you manage so stay just barely ahead of the great beast as it charges after you, swerving at the last moment to avoid the ruins as you duck inside. A sputtering of torches light up the inside as, outside, the sun begins to set Grace: Grace looked up and started to feel her stomach twist. She had to find the end of this soon.Quickly Grace took a small moment to fill her scorpion cup again and take a drink before looking ahead she moved forward into the ruins. MOD You don't need to move too far forward before you spot a large statue, similar to the sphinx of egypt. As you step forward, it blinks and looks down at you, and in a rather loud woman's voice it speaks, "Answer my riddle and you may pass..." "More precious than gold clearer than diamonds source of life, it is told and the purveyor of legends..." Grace: (okay... Im like half asleep trying to figure this out okayokay) "W... water" MOD: The statue's eyes roll up and back as they close, the center between her two paws also opens up, revealing a small pedestal with a little medal sitting atop. Grace: Grace squinted softly looking at the medal. Reaching out she grabbed it, wanting to get a better look at it. Grace: haha yall my husband is so salty i'm not cuddling his whinny ass Grace: OMG that was for OOC, Grace: *facepalm* MOD: lol MOD: the end MOD: you're really, really fucking sunburned Grace: OMFG YAS Grace: AAAAAS MOD: like blister bad Grace: its okay, grace can handle being a lobster again
