forgor to post this on here, i love these two as a duo, second is the zarina fit im saving up for

thinking about the tinker bell movies and the inherent sadness i associate them with since they weren’t given a proper conclusion. they made 6 in a row plus a bunch of shorts, a graphic novel saga, some crazy merchandising, and then just let it die, without even remotely wrapping it up. we were gonna get more chapters, we were supposed to get more chapters. the last movie being focused on fawn meant the door opened up to movies focused on other fairies as well, so what if we lost a movie about silvermist? or vidia?

there’s just a void.

we were probably supposed to see eventually the moment tink meets peter pan, the moment this human boy somehow gets to neverland and the fairies are scared and confused, but not tink, she just goes and befriends him, he’s nice, he sorta reminds her of lizzie, the way he’s so kind with fairies, the way he almost seems to understand her words… wait, does he actually understand? oh no, he made some pirate crew mad and their captain is james, THAT james, he’s back, tink knows what he’s capable of, she saw what he did to zarina, he won’t stop at nothing if he wants the boy’s head, they have to protect him! but the other fairies are like tink, are you crazy? risking our lives for him? he’s not worth it! he’s not even supposed to be here, he’s just a human! but tinker bell, well, she’s tinker bell. she saw the good in humans so she knows they’re worth saving of course, but also, there’s just something about this boy she can’t quite wrap her head around, something magical, even for a fairy. those little boys that came after him, he started looking after them, they got each others’ backs, they’re family, like her and periwinkle. they made a shelter in the hangman’s tree, she helped them build it, but she knows they’re still not safe from james (hook? she heard they’re calling him hook now). somehow she feels, she can’t leave peter anymore. so she leaves, she leaves pixie hollow behind, this family and friends she shared so many adventures with, to stay with peter and the lost boys, somehow she feels it’s the right decision. we come with you, her friends almost immediately say despite queen clarion dismissing them (for their good of course), tink smiles, no, you all belong here. fawn once told her friends that her head and heart were telling her the same thing for the first time, now it’s that moment for tink, her head and heart are both pointing to peter. he’s gonna be a great flyer. and they are gonna do great things together, she… she feels it. she’ll never leave his side. they’ll have each other.

maybe, maybe i say, we were going to see this unravel on screen, to see that farewell to pixie hollow which we may very probably never get, and the beginning of peter pan and tinker bell’s adventures.

and yet, the existing movies remain, like an incomplete memory. the last one even ends on a sad note, which is even sadder when it counts as the series conclusion and it will always be.
