We're partnering with the #osceolacounty Office of Emergency Management to host an #artcontest in honor of Severe Weather Awareness Week. 4th and 5th graders can submit their original art for a chance to win an invitation to a Board of County Commissioners meeting and their own weather radio!

Plus, the winner would also have an opportunity to visit the Spectrum News13 #Weather station, meet with #Meteorologists, and perform a mock #forecast in front of the green screen!

I Thought We’d Be Friends Forever

before fifth grade, i only new him as my best friend’s worst enemy. and then i met him. and he took my breathe away.

granted i was ten at the time but still. i thought i was in love. we became best friends. he told me everything. i was the first person he came out to as bi. i was on a group chat with him and his girlfriend. and i though it would be that way forever.

fast forward one year and boom. suddenly he talks to my best friend more than me and after that... downward spiral.

so here we are. years after i met him. i haven’t talked to him in a year. and my best friend has his hoodie and one of his school pictures in her bedroom.

It’s The Jacob’s first day of 5th Grade (now that he’s gotten a negative Covid test). He squeezed one smile out for me and then he reminded me I’d reached my limit for the day. He brings his books everywhere these days and he’s still into producing his own movies.
