For the fic ask meme: 37 and 34.
Hello @fiftysevenacademics! Thank you so much for the questions. 😊
34. Do you write to improve? Or is that not a concern for you? The way to improve is to keep writing; and that's what I used to do every day. If something didn't work, write something else. Being on LiveJournal used to mean you'd get almost immediate feedback when you posted new stuff, but things have changed since then. Yes, I do want to improve now but getting the motivation and energy to write out loads in a day has become the bigger priority. So I'm just sitting here waiting to get the writing bug again. Once it does, then I can worry about improving.
37. Do you research before writing or while you write? Is it fun or boring for you? I'm very pedantic, so any character's name has to be correct, blah blah blah, which can be a little bit boring to hunt down (if it's via websites like tardis.wiki) but often isn't. If I'm writing a period AU or a crossover AU, then I re-read whole books, rewatch old films, gather loads of images (including screenshots), perhaps create some fanart for myself, and write myself loads of notes. How can you find prodding your creative juices boring? No, it brings out the detective in me, and I love finding out new information.
Feel free to ask me anything else. 😘
