Correy Rossi is a very successful, 26 year old, international wheelchair basketball player from Michigan.
Correy has been a wheelchair user for all his life because of a spinal cord injury he sustained when he was born. This caused him to be paralyzed from the waist down and left him without any feeling in his lower limbs.
At the age of six, Correy started playing wheelchair basketball with the Michigan Rollin' Pistons junior team. After graduating high school in 2011, he went on to college at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign(UIUC).
The UIUC has the oldest college wheelchair basketball team of the United States(founded in 1948). The university also has the reputation of having one of the best teams in the Intercollegiate Division of the NWBA. Needless to say, when Correy got the chance to join Fighting Illini, he didn't have to think twice! Next to his study, Correy now travelled all over the USA to compete for Fighting Illini.
In 2015, Correy graduated from UIUC with a bachelor's degree in the field of Electrical Engineering. After leaving UIUC, Correy continued his athletic career with the Chicago Hornets, again with great success!
Correy's qualities didn't go unnoticed, and in 2017 he was able to sign a four year professional contract with the Doneck Dolphins wheelchair basketball team in Trier, Germany. Due to the recent crisis, the competition has been suspended for months on end. Luckily, the competition resumed last January.
Since October last year, Correy has his blog/ vlog page on Guidzter(a German platform for wheelchair users). It's regularly updated with content about his life in Germany. He also shares lots of tips and tricks about health, sports and nutrition.
Blogs are written in German. Videos are English spoken with (German subtitles)
