This is one of my favorite cans because I love orange and blue together. I played basketball growing up and I was obsessed with the Fighting Illini basketball team! @deebrown11 was my favorite player! What is your favorite sport and who is your all time favorite player? #sports #basketball #fightingillini #illini #illinois #collegebasketball #orangeandblue #camo #bikini (at Champaign, Illinois) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cm-R0pxLQJv/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Ali Ibanez is a very talented, 21 year old wheelchair basketball player from Utah.
Ali has been a wheelchair user for all her life because of Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita(AMC). This is a congenital condition which causes muscle weakness and extremely stiff and contracted joints in both her legs.
Ali formerly played for the Utah Rush wheelchair basketball team in Salt Lake City, Utah. After graduating high school, Ali moved to Illinois to study for a degree in Graphic Design at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She now plays for the women's team of Illinois Wheelchair Basketball.
In 2018, Ali was selected for the national women's team of the United States. She made her debut for Team USA in the 2018 World Championships in Germany. She also competed at the 2019 Parapan-An Games in Peru.
If all goes well, Ali and her team will compete at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo later this year!
A Junior from Murray, Utah, the most improved player on the women's team from the 2019-20 season. Today's #Illini athlete spotlight is Ali
