The best gay representation award goes to...
Gavreel Mendoza 👏👏👏
Ladies and gentlemen, let set this right now, Gavreel Mendoza is one of the best gay characters in the history of bl.
Aside from the fact that his charmingness will make any man from the face of this earth gets a goosebumps and chills (and even a possible boner), Gav is a pure representation of a confident and manly gay.
One of the problems that many bl dramas have is that they struggle to come out with a character that fulfils the requirements of a perfect lover, but under hetero standards, so that's the reason why we get lots of "I don't like men but I like you" plots.
Even though bl is about boyxboy stories we hardly see actual gay characters performing the main roles, the majority of them are newbies bi, just-one-man homos or eat-it-all disaster. But our angel of peace is a self aware homo with a very functional gaydar.
Gav already passed his phase of realization with Pearl but after that, he appropriated the fact of being into guys and he started to approach them proudly. He also noticed Cairo sexual orientation before even knowing him and that's why he was, since the beginning, very straightforward about his feelings (I haven't seen such a big gay energy before).
Gav is a confident gay that doesn't need to use the "love has nothing to do with gender" trope to hide himself. He's still manly, soft and lovely, all at the same time, and he gets no problem to show to the world who he is and who he likes.
Yass Gav you're the man!
It's still ep. 8 so please don't mess it up
Quaranthings 2 is coming and it's about what happens when a relationship that's been in a bubble has to open up to their friends and their family and what happens when two worlds meet.
Love Is has turned out to be pretty cute! Very much a pinoy pulp but, hey, I love pulps. Wish the subs were timed a bit better but... you know, I'm good with it.
Looks like three couples, built around families and friendship, and that's an interesting enough premise to keep me coming back!
I also absolutely ship the driver with his boss despite the fact that his brother is the one lusting after the boss and I don't care what's canon and didn't pay enough attention to know if I'm right or wrong.
... Also, I've watched enough to recognize some of the actors and I'm honestly impressed that I did that at all.
But, yes! Another show on my roster!
Lemuel is adorable and Omeng's just absolute dismissal that he might have feelings for him besides friendship is adorable. Seriously, this is the kind of friends to lovers I love. They're both kinda idiots and one is in love before the other and they have so much potential.
Epoy is adorable and Vlad is a awkwardly discovering he's bi and y'all know how much I love a bi disaster so I'm pretty down for this even if Epoy is growing on me faster than Vlad.
Shakespeare is adorable and very sweet and I look forward to meeting their partner and seeing what happens with the innocent little one.
Yes, Love Is has already grown on me. Surprise? Don't be surprised. I love pulps.
