Upside Down Two Shot We often post two-shots here because they play such a big role in movie action—for example, in dances, fights, chases, and romance. Because two shots are so common, finding a way to make them visually fresh isn’t easy. Australian director James Demitri (@mrjamesdemitri) met that challenge in this frame from his prize-winning black-and-white feature “Misplaced.” You can see the trailer for “Misplaced”—the current Mobile Movie of the Week—at MobileMovieMaking (link in profile). #twoshot #shotoniPhone #filmdirecting #mobilemovieoftheweek https://www.instagram.com/p/CaVMKNVvXgb/?utm_medium=tumblr
Photographer Turned Film Director James Demitri—director of the prize-winning feature “Misplaced”— developed his visual skills as a still photographer. @mrjamesdemitri is in good company. Other directors with photographic backgrounds include Spike Jonze (“Being John Malkovich”), Wim Wenders (“Paris, Texas”), and Stanley Kubrick (references not needed). Not surprising, Demitri’s black and white movie is filled with stunning compositions.
