Once again Thanksgiving is the red-headed stepchild of the end of year holidays. We used to be able to rely on it as a barrier preventing Christmas from sneaking its way earlier and earlier in the year, but the pressure was too great and containment was breached, leaving only Halloween as our last line of defense. Soon too that will fall, and people will be celebrating Christmas as early as Labor Day. One year I saw Halloween decorations go up on the 4th of July, so you KNOW this is no empty threat.
