idk but in every single season of stranger things there’s AT LEAST one theory that a character believes and everyone else around them shrugs them off and calls them crazy. but they always end up being right… this is like a major theme of the show,, we (and the characters) are supposed to dig deeper, to look behind the curtain, to believe in something even though it’s batshit crazy — and the payoff is that you learn the truth. you learn the truth no matter how horrible or terrifying it is, because it’s still better than accepting the pretty little easy-to-swallow platitude that’s been given to you.
and I think that that’s what the meta of this final season is doing — the entire audience is in Hawkins and we’re being separated into two groups : the Party (those that question what they’re told and seek real answers and discover the truth) and everyone else in Hawkins (those who just take what they’re given and accept it without question).
the majority of the general audience is a part of that second group, they’ve accepted the finale and moved on. but those of us that still believe in #conformitygate? we’re the party. we’re truth seekers. we pay more attention than most and we don’t accept watered-down answers.
the party never had it easy — knowing the truth comes with a price. and now we’re feeling like Joyce with the lights, Hopper with the pumpkins, Nancy with the rats and Victor Creel, and so on.
