• Life Energy •
Life Energy, as it has been spoken of, is what the Infinite Realms was initially made of. Or rather, it’s all the Infinite Realms was. Over the millennia, it proved to grow over itself, calcifying layers and layers of concepts, ideas, thoughts, split second feelings and recurring emotions from all worlds connected to it. Fossilized layers of everything mortal creatures eventually always forgot about would become embedded deep within the Realms down to its very core.
The first Linkeeper, forgotten now to the dredges of no longer spoken history, had given it a name. From the very beginning, they recognized what it was. And when they soothed those sharp, poking edges for the first time, they kissed its name onto them: Vigio.
• The Everift •
who are they?
The Everift are inter-dimensional beings, those that live in the in between of the worlds multitude. They are the connectors and the dividers. Everift stabalize punctures in a world’s fabric. They may seal it, or sometimes turn it into a door, or, on the rare occassion, leave it an open window, whether to assure it’s stability or otherwise. They are connected to the balance. They know all in a world that can tip it, and take care to watch over it all.
Many guide souls out of their void, into the Vigio so that they may cross it to their destination. Many live throughout different lived across many worlds. They do not create but they perpetuate. The Everift are the many, and they are the Experiencers; they are a Consequence and a Reaction.
what are they?
They are the Rift, Nothing and Everything. The Everift are a higher dimension, like all others that were born of the connection between the Universe and the Vigio. Many, however, prefer to exist, partially, at a perceivable dimension within the Realms where they can see and be seen. Where they have a consciousness over the many worlds they divide. Worlds that are brought together by both Vigio and the Everift.
Like those who go by the false title of “Ghost King”, the Everift, too, are Keeper. Worldkeepers. Sometimes these Keepers lived. Sometimes, in the worlds they bordered. As such, many consider themselves attached to them and the lives they had there.
The Everift are a constant companion to the Vigio, and to its “king”.
Worldkeeper and Linkeeper. Two sides of the same coin; they watch over each other.
P.S,
I still had to skip a couple of stuff with this one because plot ✨
but i’m pretty satisfied with how it came out. Again, the Everift are my favorites. I honestly can’t wait to introduce them in-story.
It was impossible. It had to be. There was no way that this was happening right now. Absolutely none. Zero. The conversation with Molly had made her think and her mind has been going crazy for two days now, ever since she left the café, trying to make everything add up. She remembers that she had her period a few weeks ago, but she had been taking her potion every morning just like the Healer instructed her to do. It was the safest one available. The guarantee was 99%, the odds of them falling into that one percent were slim, but then again they were always part of the one percent. They had always been careful, this had to be a mistake. Diana knew she had to schedule an appointment with her healer immediately, just to calm herself down and be sure that it was just a stomach bug. She knew she had to find a time where Malcolm would be busy so he wouldn’t suspect that something was up, she didn’t want to worry him unnecessarily when it was probably nothing. So when he said he had to attend the Debate with the people candidating for Minister she told him she had a headache and that it would be better if he went without her.
She had never been pregnant before and hadn’t read up about any of the symptoms either, they had another year before they planned to have their first child after all, so she was pretty much clueless apart from the things other women have told her over time. A year after the wedding was the perfect timing in her mind. Diana was sure that it was just the wedding planning and all the stress she had been under recently that made her feel this way for the last couple of weeks. She noticed it first about two weeks ago and it had been happening rather infrequently since then. Morning sickness was just during the mornings as far as she was aware of so that was another sign that pointed to her not being pregnant. Because she couldn’t be. She had a wedding to plan and a wedding dress to fit in. Her wedding was less than three months away. This could not be happening right now. The life she led was meticulously planned and this simply would not fit into the plan. First came marriage then came the baby. That’s how it had always been and that was how it was going to be for them to. Their relationship despite having the most traditional beginnings had become less so over the years. Her parents would be furious if she got pregnant before they were married, she knew how much it must have taken out of them to agree to let her live with Malcolm before he had even proposed. They had taken a less traditional route and she wanted to prove to her parents that they had made the right choice in letting her make her own decisions.
Luckily Healer Carver agreed to see her as soon as possible, noting the urgency in the Owl Diana had sent to her. The cursive writing was almost sloppy on some words and having been Diana’s Healer for years she knew that something big must be up for her to write out of the blue like this. Diana did her best to seem calm and collected as she walked into St. Mungos for her appointment. From the outside looking in, no one was able to tell how much she was freaking out on the inside. After explaining the situation to her healer, making sure to mention that it was most likely a stomach bug several times until she got cut off, she sat on the chair, her legs unable to keep still as she watched the Healer perform several spells, unsure what the sparks lighting up meant. It took about twenty minutes for the tests to be done and she nervously waited for Healer Carver to tell her she could go home and relax with a glass of champagne. Well that was what would’ve happened in an ideal world. But this was the real world.
“Congratulations!” The smile on the elder women’s face was wide, “You’re pregnant.”
Blinking several times she looked at the other woman, waiting for her to start laughing and tell her she was just kidding. Not that Carver ever had a sense of humor, but not would be the perfect time to develop one.
“It’s still early into your first trimester, I’m estimating that you’re about four to five weeks pregnant, it’s too soon to tell exactly and it checks out with the dates of your last period. I know this is a lot to process but I am here for any questions you might have. As your healer it is my job to inform you that there are other options too. If you don’t want to have this baby we can talk about your options there...”
As the healer kept talking she was still trying to wrap her head around it, unsure of how she should react and if it was a good thing or a bad thing. Part of her was happy. She had always planned on having children with Malcolm and that same part couldn’t wait to start a family together, imagining little versions of her and Malcolm running around the Manor, but the bigger part of her was scared. Terrified even of what this would mean. For them. For their future. They weren’t married yet. It would be a sure scandal if anyone found out. She wasn’t sure what to do. She couldn’t tell her parents. They would demand she got rid of it before anyone could find out so that she wouldn’t bring more shame to their family name. Charlie had done that well enough. Diana thought that she couldn’t tell Malcolm yet either. Not yet. They had just gotten engaged last month. It was way too soon. She felt like she was beginning to hyperventilate, gulping down the water Healer Carver handed her. It was the worst timing possible. She had no idea what she was supposed to, but she was sure of one thing at least. She didn’t want to make it disappear. Diana did not consider herself a romantic, but she believed that Malcolm and her were meant to be. Perhaps this was too. Staying silent for several minutes, trying to sort the mess inside of her head she turned to her healer, her voice not wavering as she was sure about her decision. “I want to keep it.” She had absolutely no idea of what pregnancy was like except from the stories she had heard over the years and while she wasn’t fond of reading she knew she would have to do some as soon as possible, and without someone seeing her. This had to be kept a secret for as long as possible. Certainly until after the wedding. Their reputation stood on the line and she was determined not to damage hers or Malcolms. Or their child’s. Merlin, she still wasn’t sure if it was actually real. It didn’t feel real to her yet and she wondered how long it would take for it to sink in. Molly had been right, perhaps being pregnant so many times made her more intuitive to others going through the same thing? The redheaded woman had known before she herself had known. She had laughed it off back then. It did worry her that a stranger could tell immediately when she herself had had no idea. What if someone else had noticed something?
There were many questions she had for the healer and the woman had been patiently answering every single one, explaining to Diana what symptoms she could expect in these coming months, what foods and drinks she should avoid, which prenatal vitamins she would have to take and when their next appointment would be. She should come back in three weeks, at the end of the month. By then Diana hoped she would figure out a way to tell him the news. They were going to become parents. Malcolm was going to be a father and she would be a mother in a matter of months.
While still struggling to come to terms with reality at the moment, it certainly explained a lot of the things she had been feeling over the last weeks. The random spurs of sickness, her sudden dislike of food she normally loved. Her breasts had been hurting too, but she thought that had something to do with her period that should have been coming up soon. Clearly she had been wrong there and wouldn’t have her period for a while. It was crazy to wrap her head around what she had been told. There was a baby inside of her. She was going to be a mother. Merlin, this was actually happening. In a few months Malcolm and her would be parents. It was crazy to think about.
