Math is cool
Anyway,, calc is hard but I still love her
How much studying is too much studying?
Lile how many hours outside of class do you study during the week? And on the weekends?
I genuinely don’t really know how to make a study plan/schedule because a) I don’t break down my day into hour segments or so like that and b) I don’t know how to maintain a schedule like that bc what if something comes up or traffic is bad or something
What do you think?
Testing out of intro course(s)
I’m trying to test out of intro physics in like 4 hours so I can go straight into physics with calc and I’m lowkey stressed.
It’s just like, damn if I pass then that’s saving me like $400 ish and I’ll graduate sooner.
I just feel a lot of pressure to do well and I haven’t slept well. I’ve only slept four hours and idk do you have any tips??
Friday is my favorite day because no one is really on campus. (Even though I don’t have calc on Friday, it’s still my favorite)
First week of classes update
As I’m writing this, it’s Saturday morning and I woke up too early.
I lowkey can’t stop thinking about calc. Which isn’t actually an issue, because I haven’t had any type of math course in years. In 5-6 years. So I definitely need to relearn a lot.
Other that struggling a little with remembering trig, I really like my calc class.
It feels like the first math course I’m going to have to actually work at instead of half ass listening to lectures and not doing homework and still doing really well like I did in high school.
I got a little tipsy (ok probably a more than a little) last night, and my partner was assuring me that I’m going to do really well.
He was in a similar position roughly two years ago. (Except it had only been 3-4 years since his last math course. And at that point he was farther along that I currently am) I’m pretty sure he was in calc 1 or 2 in high school while I was in college algebra and pre calc.
So, I am a little anxious about not doing as well as I want to, but I think this first week I have worked really hard and I am doing well. I got a 100 on my first two homework assignments and a 75 on my third even though I didn’t answer two problems at all. (My homework is online and I have three times to complete it, so obv I’m going to redo that one this weekend)
I haven’t been able to sleep much this week. I’ve been really nervous about everything. I haven’t really been eating and I know that doesn’t help, so this weekend I’m planning on going grocery shopping at some point and lowkey meal prepping? And by that I mean bringing my lunch with me since I hardly ever sit down and eat a lunch at once. So maybe having peanut butter and crackers and carrots and fruit available to snack on. I think that’ll be beneficial.
Other than calc, there hasn’t been a lot of work to do since it’s add/drop week.
It feels really weird having to study and learn things since I haven’t in so long.
I had a though, “oh it’s going to be hard in chemistry” but right now I’m realizing that’s bullshit? Bc obv I’m not going to struggle if I put in work. My thought process for chem was just do work in class and that’s it.
It’s just weird. I have to learn how to study.
