Insane to me how Scott can make a minor mistake two years ago and people in MCYT can treat him like he’s the devil to this day (having his named banned, removing him from AU’s, blocking people who don’t hate him, ect) but Skizz can do something even worse and yet slightly related and everyone moves on like nothing happened.

Oh nooo, there’s bigots in MCC and Scott got a little snappy because he was being harassed already (and also he doesn’t control who’s in MCC)? He fucking apologized and also 100% had the right to be snappy, but let’s hate on him for forever woth the vitriol of a mob. But Skizz actively employs bigots and digs his heels in on an action that actually hurts queer people in his community? Nahhh it’s fine. Look. I don’t think we should harass Skizz- I don’t think we should harass anyone. But if you jump so hard on slandering a gay man but then defend or ignore the worse yet somewhat similar wrongdoings of a cis man…you’re being hypocritical. Extremely hypocritical. Hell, that would still be true even if they were the same sexuality.

Scott and Noxcrew acknowledged it and got rid of those people, and MCC isn’t Scott’s event. Skizz is continuing the same way and it feels like people barely care anymore. C’mon.

Keep on seeing posts about the canary curse and Jimmy on my dash and tbh can I just say…what if, canonically, the canary curse isn’t a REAL thing? More so a psychological thing for c!Jimmy, a name for doubt/fear and the (fairly consistent) joking from the other lifers about his placements? Almost like a self fufilling prophecy. But despite the fact he doesn’t always die first and thus the curse isn’t real, he’s not able to believe in himself to psychologically break it?

Idk, just a thought. I love the canary motifs and stuff but also he’s been out later than first multiple times. Not to mention Past Life. Maybe this is a good way to keep both true?

anyways, shoutout to Martyn ITLW for making the most morally grey/ambivalent, antagonistic-but-not-a-villain, psychologically interesting characters in pretty much everything he’s in. maybe it’s the psych major in me but I love characters you can dissect, characters you can really sink your teeth into. Characters that do bad and good things for complex reasons, characters with a thought process and personality and dimension. He’s actually such a good character writer (and lore writer!) and the fact he gives us this all for free is insane. Whether it’s a pow creations server or the life series or something else, I tune into a Martyn video/stream and know I’m going to experience a masterclass in storytelling and character creation.

I mean this completely genuinely, by the way. I cannot believe we have a CC who’s both an incredible writer and super funny.

I haven’t been watching Vampires SMP because college but I know in my heart and soul that Martyn is being gay. And that’s all I need.
