For the last twenty something years I’ve lived in the mitten state (Michigan) so the search for a place to live started virtually. I spent about a month and a half searching and found some sites and apps offer better pickings than others. Below I bring you the fruits of my labor.

Yes, their adds are corny but this is a solid place to look for lodgings. All of the listings here are posted by professionals so you’ll know the walk through you’re setting up is legitimate.  

Zillow.com

With its recent acquisition of Trulia Zillow has an even larger net to cast over the market, but be forewarned that Zillow makes money through advertising. Anyone can post here and scams run wild on Interwebs.         

Craigslist 

Craigslist will give you the best options, but it is also the most sketchy. Keep an eye out for scammers. Anyone who asks you to send them money before seeing the house or claim to be missionaries out of the country looking for God fearing people are lying. Hope this helps anyone planning to relocate.
