Shane is out on IR so he is staying with Ilya in Boston for a few days. During that time, Boston has a game that Shane is planning to watch from Ilya's house.
After the Bears' morning practice, the boys are in the locker room talking about how nice it is to wake up with your girlfriend/wife and Ilya mentioned that he woke up with his girl that morning because she is staying with him for a few days.
The boys are kind of ribbing him about it and asking if that means she's coming to the game! He says no, that she's injured and working from home while she's with him. They make a joke about how serious it must be if she's injured and they can't *wink wink* but he still let her come over. Ilya says its not that severe of an injury, she's just not having to go into the office.
The boys let it go and start to go home to rest before the game, but Ilya has to stay at the rink to deal with some stuff with the coach and captain's duties. Some of the boys (Marlow and maybe a couple others) decide that since Jane isn't too injured and in Boston, they'll go to Ilya's house and bring her to the game to surprise him!
Shane is just getting out of the shower and hears the doorbell ring and, knowing that Ilya isn't coming home between morning practice and the game, is confused but assumes its just Amazon or something. So he opens the door, dressed in a slighly oversized Boston Bears t-shirt and Adidas track pants, in the middle of toweling off his damp hair.
Cue intense confusion, lots of gasping, hyperventilating, Marlow understands immediately but has to walk his teammates through the implications here.
I imagine they cook up some hilarious yet discreet way to let Ilya know what happened, like Marlow texts him a photo of his front door with the caption, "tried to do something nice, but Jane prefers to watch from home...and refuses to be seen in public with your jersey on ;)"

It wasn’t hard to tell from the outside that you weren’t feeling great. But on the inside, you had a raging headache, and your stomach was churning restlessly. All you really wanted to do was lay down and die. And that’s what you were so gracefully trying to do at your desk, face down on the cold wood, when your fiance so lovingly came up behind you and leaned his full body weight on your back.
“Agnew, I swear to god, if you don’t fuck off right now, when I feel better I will bury you alive in an undisclosed location.” Okay, so maybe you were a bit of a drama queen, but in your defense, you felt pretty terrible.
“You know in two months that nickname will be irrelevant because you’ll share it too.” You stuck your middle finger in his face, hoping he got the message. He stepped back, but hung around, rubbing your back soothingly. “Seriously though, are you doing okay? I know you mentioned feeling sick in the car this morning, but thinking it was motion sickness. You haven’t eaten lunch yet either.”
You lifted your head, glaring in his general direction. “I feel just peachy Spence.” It would’ve had a lot more bite to it if you hadn’t looked so pathetic. Your head returned to the table with a loud thump, only making your headache worse. Hearing his footsteps travel further from you, you had hoped that he would leave you alone to suffer, but you should’ve known better. His caring nature was one of the things you loved most about him, but you felt like a bear that had been woken up from hibernation. A very nauseous, achy bear. He came back, setting a plate of crackers and a glass of ginger ale next to your head. You murmured your thanks, even though you really didn’t want to talk to anyone. And then it hit you. Tommy and Courtney walked by with freshly brewed coffee. Usually you would love the smell, but this time, bile rose in your throat.
You stood up dizzily, practically sprinting to the bathroom, where you threw up the meager breakfast you had eaten on the way out the door. Spencer followed, pulling a hair tie out of his pocket and twisting your hair back. He rubbed your back as you spit, trying to rid your mouth of the acidic taste.
“Gross.” Your nose wrinkled as you flushed down the vomit.
“Do you think you’re sick honey?”
You shook your head. “No, I feel better now, maybe the last of the cream cheese I had this morning went bad.” A lie.
He put his hand on your forehead and you hummed at the contact. “No fever, at least I don’t think so. Are you hungry now?”
Your stomach growled, as if on cue. “Starved.”
He helped you up from your kneeling position, gently guiding you back to your desk. “We’ll start with this, and see how you feel about eating something substantial later.”
“Thanks honey.” You leaned up, trying to catch his mouth in a kiss. He dodged it, putting a piece of gum in your hand. Laughing, you unwrapped it and popped it into your mouth. “I guess I deserve that one.”
He planted a kiss on your forehead. “Mouth kisses can happen later. I have a shooting block and they’re promising me we’ll be done by 5 this time.”
“They better, it’s your turn to make dinner.”
“Hopefully your breath will be better by then.” You stuck your tongue out at him in mock anger. All he did was mimic you before turning on his heel and walking away.
You made sure he was out of sight before checking your phone. Loading Stardust, you opened your cycle tracker. The pit of nausea in your stomach came back with a fervor as you looked at it. ‘20 days late. Your period’s taking a vacation! Keep calm and wait for the storm.’ You rolled your eyes knowingly. The storm wouldn’t be here for a long time.
But still, you had to be sure. Getting up, you walked over to Arasha, one of the most level-headed people you knew. And more importantly, she was one of the few people who could actually get away with lying. “Hey! What’s up?”
“Hey, can I talk to you about something?”
“Of course, sit down.”
You pulled Tommy’s chair over and sat knee to knee with her. “I’m about to ask you to do something very scary, and I need you to stay calm. Okay?”
She nodded, taking the hint. “Okay.”
“Can we go on an adventure?”
“What for?”
You leaned in close, whispering. “We can pretend to go get coffee or tea or something, but we need to go to Walgreens so I can get a pregnancy test.”
“Whoa, is this a just in case thing or are you confirming?”
“I’ve been throwing up all morning, Rash. I’m also 20 days late. I didn’t notice because of how stressful wedding planning has been but-” Your whisper got quieter. “We haven’t exactly been… careful.”
“I don’t want to imagine that at all actually.”
You stifled a laugh. “Girl’s trip?”
“Girl’s trip.”
—-----
You met Arasha at a secluded corner booth in your favorite cafe, steaming green tea in front of you. You pulled a paper towel wrapped test out of your purse and set it on the table.
“You brought it with you?”
“I didn’t want to look by myself, it felt wrong.”
She grabbed your hand. “Hey, I’m honored you wanted me here.”
The timer on your phone went off. “Okay, I guess I look now.” You took a deep breath, unfurling
the paper towel. Two bright pink lines stared back at you. You looked at her in disbelief. “Pregnant. I’m pregnant.”
“Have you guys talked about this?”
“I mean, yeah, we both want kids, there’s a reason we stopped using protection. I just didn’t expect it to happen so quickly.”
She smiled brightly at you. “He’s going to be thrilled. Everyone is going to be thrilled. Smosh Baby #2.”
You laughed, but caught a whiff of a dark roast again and gagged. “I’ll be back.” You stood up, covering your mouth.
“Do you need help?” You shook your head no, holding back bile. You threw up again, thanking Spencer in your head for the hair tie he carried around at all times while simultaneously cursing him a little. Your hand rested lightly on your lower stomach, rubbing a soothing circle on it.
“Alright baby, time to go break the news to your dad.” When you said dad, you choked up a little and involuntary tears started to roll down your cheeks, quickly wiping them away, you joined Arasha back at your booth. She held your tea out to you. It was cold now, but it succeeded in rinsing the taste out of your mouth.
“Ready?”
“Ready.”

The worst part was the waiting. You had finished your busy work in record time due to the anxiety, and now you were scrolling through pre-natal advice on Reddit. You wanted Spencer to be able to come to the doctor with you, so you had put off scheduling your first appointment until after you told him. The worst part was you were starting to crave things. If you didn’t get olives in the next ten minutes you were going to explode. Thankfully, soon after, he walked through the double doors towards you, looking exhausted. Slumping into the seat next to you and putting his head on your shoulder, he said, “There is no way I’m cooking tonight. Can we get Homestate?”
“Yeah, that’s alright with me baby. Can we stop at the grocery store too though? I need to grab something.”
His brow furrowed. “We went grocery shopping last weekend.”
You spun your engagement ring on your finger habitually. “I know, I just need something.”
He shrugged. “Alright weirdo, then let’s go.”
You sighed as you left the grocery store. Spencer was ordering Homestate over the phone for pickup in the driver’s seat of the parked car and he blew you a kiss as he saw you walking back towards him. As you slid into the passenger seat, he hung up with a grin. “So, what did you just have to have?”
You rolled your eyes. “If you’re going to be mean, you don’t get to know or get to have the present I got for you.”
“A present? For me?” He put his hand on his chest in mock admiration. “I didn’t know it was my birthday.”
“Do you want it or not?” You raised an eyebrow.
His smile turned genuine. “Yes, of course I do baby, I’m sure it’s perfect.”
“Close your eyes then dork.” He shut his eyes and held out his hands. You opened the front pocket of your purse that contained the pregnancy test you had taken earlier. Dusting it off, you put it in his hands. Nervously, you said, “Okay, open.”
He opened his eyes. You watched his expression go from confusion, to realization, to shock. He started to tear up. “Is this real?”
Your voice broke. “Yeah, yeah it is.”
He practically threw himself over the console, wrapping you in his arms. “I love you so much. This is amazing, we’re going to be parents.”
A warmth settled over you and you started to cry. “We’re parents.”
He pulled back, kissing the tear tracks on your face. “Alright, now what was so weird that you had to do that before I saw what you got.” You pulled a jar of green olives and a jar of peanut butter out of the bag. Two things you famously hated. “No way.”
“I have the urge to combine them.”
“You’re so strange.”
“This is your fault! It’s your strange in my body.”
His face twisted. “Don’t say it like that.”
“It’s technically true.”
He started to drive. “I’m going to pretend like you didn’t say it.” You opened the jar of olives, picking out one on the top and biting into it.
“Oh my god that’s so good. Do you want one?”
“I’m okay baby.” He had a cheesy grin on his face. “So the baby likes olives. Good to know.”
You pointed an olive at him. “You’re the one who put a baby in me, it’s your fault.”
He winked at you. “I’d do it again if you let me.” It made heat settle low in your stomach, but you glared at him anyway.
“Insufferable bitch. Shut up and take a damn olive.”
“Yes ma’am.” He plucked it out of your fingers and popped it into his mouth. “Oh my god that is good.”
“Told you!” You both burst out laughing. Closing the jar and leaning back, you were suddenly overcome by the urge to fall asleep then and there. You cracked open your eyes, gazing fondly at the man who was now the father of your child.
He rubbed circles on your knee. “We’re almost home beautiful girl. Then you can rest, but not before I force you to eat something other than olives.” As soon as he said it, he pulled into the lot of your apartment complex. Fighting sleep, you watched as he grabbed the bag of food and got out of the car. He thought for a moment before saying, “I’ll be right back.”
You unbuckled your seatbelt but stayed put in your seat, starting to drift off as the warmth of the sun filtered in through the window. You heard a small click before being lifted by a pair of strong arms. A familiar musky scent filled your nose as you let your head loll to the side, letting your fiance carry you into your apartment. He set you gently on the couch, covering you with the quilt your mom had sewn for your engagement present and kissing you on the forehead. You groaned as you felt his heat leave. He chuckled. “I’m going to eat something quick, then I’m all yours my love.” All you could do was hum as he tucked you in with a soft smile.
The next time you came to, Spencer was laying on top of you with his head on your stomach, cradling it protectively with his hand. As you grew more lucid, you heard him whispering to it and your heart melted. His eyes flicked up to you as you ran your fingers through his curly hair.
“Your mama is up, baby. She’s so pretty, even if she snores.” You rolled your eyes, but were unable to stop the smile creeping across your face. “She’s my everything, and you’re my everything now too. I’d do anything for the two of you.” He grabbed your hand, squeezing it gently. “I can’t wait to marry her and be your dad.” He brushed his hand across your nonexistent bump fondly. “Even if all we eat is green olives for the rest of our lives.”
Hot tears were rolling down your cheeks, dampening the throw pillow under your head. Spencer crawled next to you until the two of you were face to face. You pulled him down on top of you and wiped your tears on his sweatshirt hood. “If you keep being poetic, I’m gonna keep crying.”
“I can’t help it when I have my whole world here on this couch with me.”
“Your whole world is exhausted and hungry and hormonal. And she wants her husband to make a doctor’s appointment for the two of them tomorrow to check on the baby.”
“I’m not your husband yet sweetheart.”
“Two months is negligible.”
“Well then, I suppose I will do what my wife and baby want and bring them food.” You giggled as he kissed your knuckles, leaving extra on your engagement ring. You heard him rustle around in the kitchen, preparing your dinner. He came back with a tray with one plate of actual dinner and a smaller plate of olives and peanut butter. “Dinner for two is served.”
You started to cry tears of joy again when you saw how lovingly he had prepared it. “You need to stop being so nice to me or this will happen every time, that’s a threat.”
“As long as those are tears of joy, I’m never stopping.” He stole an olive off your plate. “Never.”
A/N: I had the urge to write a pregnancy fic after reading @illusorytherapy's girl dad series. Also I've never tried peanut butter and olives so I have no clue if it's good or not.
Update: I made a sweet sequel about this little family! Read My Beautiful Melody here.
Hi, so this YouTuber Jade Adelaide made a video about Auroradiation and her behavior, I recommend sharing it so more people know and report Aurora's accounts. I'm thankful with Jade and the person who helped sending the info !!
You weren’t expected to have witnessed it, but it happened. You saw it; your wife was fucking another man behind your back… and she couldn’t crave him more.
