Finally done! A very fun and amusing print to work on, inspired by the painting titled Immaculate Conception by Peter Paul Rubens. For some reason, I felt that Kallamar would fit the look of old religious paintings, and I kept circling back to Mother Mary in paintings, which has led us here.
Wasn't too sure about the head tentacles at first, but then it fit in this context of a grand-looking Kallamar as opposed to the more soft and squishy version of him that I usually depict in the slice of life, funny, cute style that I usually go for in my other posts.
The shading was challenging, figuring out colours along the way, together with the lighting and shadows. Quite the departure from my other works. But it was fun using strokes and halftones to add the textures and whatnot. Feels like my style is evolving and my skills improving hehe.
