Lucid Dreaming
I did it!! This morning i successfully lucid-dreamt!
In my dream I was standing outside a cave, kicking rocks. I woke up for 5 minutes, stretching and getting some water, but still holding the dream in my mind, before lying back down (thank you @the-noise-maker for the technique!!). I tried getting the dream to focus like it did the only other time i’ve lucid dreamt, but it wasn't working. Then i asked my guide to help me, and he said okay. He was suddenly in the dream, swimming next to my person. He told me to breathe, and to focus. And then i kind of flew towards myself for a minute, and then suddenly i was in this dream.
It feels a lot different than the first time i did it. It feels mostly like when I'm astral traveling. I see myself more in 3rd person, but my consciousness is still definitely there, although not completely. I could still feel my physical body.
At first i rubbed my hands and tried to get as much physical sensation as possible to root myself to the dream. I was finally lucid dreaming!! But at first i didn't really have total control of the dream.
I was in like the world of skyrim kind of, walking between cities on a dirt path in the forest, the sky above gray. A wolf tried to run up on me and i made it disappear.
Then i was like "this sucks" and i decided to switch the scene. I turned it into a beach. I was on a walkway maybe 200 ft from the actual water, and there were a lot of people on this paved walkway and on the beach.
I walked through the sand, again getting sensations to root myself. I walked up to the shore and let the water surge up around and past my feet, and felt the coldness all the way up my body. It was a lovely feeling.
I decided i wanted to try and walk on the water, but i was having a hard time, and my guide suggested it’s because it’s not a still body of water, which made sense. I walked out. I wanted to play with the dream space more. I flew straight up, for thousands and thousands of feet, until i was above the clouds, like an airplane. There was a sea of clouds that were illuminated by the setting sun, yellows and pinks and purples, all glowing in this shimmering light. I floated up in the air for a while, taking in the scene. It was beautiful.
Then i went to a forest in the mountains, it was softly raining and it was soo nice as i walked through the cool air, and i could make out the snow-capped peak of a mountain peeking through the tree tops.
Then i went to a mountain lake, similar to one that i go to when i meditate in the astral. It was much more real than in the astral, the water more ripply and detailed; not as clear. I did walk on this surface of water, and it was much easier than walking on the ocean.
Then i went to my hometown and visited my family and my best friend. They looked like how they do now, my younger brother taller as hes going through puberty. Even though i knew that it wasn't real, it was still nice to see them. I've been missing them a lot lately.
Then i decided to go to the astral. My guide nodded, and brought me to the edge of the dream. It didn’t look like the edge of a dream, no discernible edge or anything. It just looked like the landscape continued. But he swam into it and disappeared. I put my hand into it and it disappeared, and then i walked through.
And suddenly i found myself in my astral space. It was so much more vivid than it normally is when i astral travel. I went over to my guides' pond and he beamed and we talked for a while. He did say yesterday that I'd be experiencing new things and having more layers stripped away.
I asked him where i should go in the astral, now that I'm not as inhibited. He said that he'll need to accompany me for a while, and he knew just the place.
He grabbed my hand, and suddenly we were traveling through dark, void space. As we were going i felt myself go up in vibration, and suddenly i was in an archway leading up to a giant courtyard in what looks like a school. It was bustling, many, many figures and outlines and shapes and colors of spirits and entities walking here. My guide confirmed that it is indeed a place of learning. I can come here and learn about anything and everything. He asked me where i wanted to go. I was indecisive, but eventually decided to go sit down at a lecture on spirit species. Not longer after i sat down, i realized that i wanted to go to a class on the fae. Duh. So we got up and went to that class.
This auditorium wasn't as packed as the other one, and all of the figures in here ironically seemed to be fae. I intuitively got the impression that they weren't here to learn, but that they like to hangout and hear about themselves.
A fae professor came to the front and began. He talked about a bunch of things. He detailed about courts, and about how the fae are organized. They can be any size, typically running a bit bigger, but it really depends on the environment they inhabit. I got images of courts and the fae and the heirarchy. I raised my hand and asked if there is one giant court that all fae adhere to. I got a mixed answer, leaning towards no; perhaps there is a deity or something.
Anyways, he went to detail interactions with other species. Typically fae prefer to keep to themselves, and then he said "which is why all of you are here" gesturing to the fae in the audience and they all chuckled. Sometimes they will interact with the human world, though. Typically they lean towards indifference, though sometimes the fae will get bored or curious by a particular human. It's important to note that the fae have different ideas of morality altogether, and care not for suffering or unfairness, so their interactions with humans usually lean towards what the humans might call cruelty.
At this point he kind of pointed me out in the crowd and asked me a couple of questions. I told him about my encounter with the fae, and about how he said that we were in "shared space" and i wasn't trespassing. The professor pointed out that although it technically wasn't part of the fae kingdom, i was definitely still trespassing in their territory. I told him what the fae said, that i was okay because i was with the forest. "With the forest?" he asked. I told him that i was taken under the forests' wing. He looked at me intrigued, and said "okay, yeah i can see it now." He went back to lecturing, and it ended shortly thereafter.
As we walked back out to the courtyard, my guide said that we'll be coming here again, but for now any traveling outside of our astral domain he'll need to come with me until I'm used to it.
We got back to my astral space, and i bumped into Crush, my turtle spirit guide. He greeted me warmly, and with much suprise. He said i looked different, more... detailed, and felt different. And he did too. I told him i was lucid dreaming and he nodded in understanding. We chatted for a bit, and then i bid them farewell, wanting to fool around a bit more with lucid dreaming.
I got back. I kind of... didn't know what to do?? I could do anything, and i wasn't sure what i wanted to try, or even where to begin. I kind of putzed around a bit before eventually waking up. I need to think of things to try before going again.
But wow! That was crazy. I kind of figured that it was going to feel different than the first and only time i did it, so i opened myself up to any and all experiences, and i’m glad i did. I think that plus my guide pulling me in is what really made it work. And now that i’ve done it once, i’m confident that i’ll be able to do it again.
Also... the institute, or the place of learning... I’m not exactly sure where that is. I think i remember reading a while ago that one of the dimensions of consciousness - i think the 2nd? - is devoted to learning and information. So perhaps that’s where i went?? Or maybe there is a legit institute in the astral that people can go. If anyone knows more about this, i’d appreciate the information.
But anyways, holy wow! That was an insane experience! It’s given me more insight into consciousness and reality; but also, i think it’s going to be a huge tool for me to utilize, both the lucid dreaming and the lucid traveling (that’s what i’m going to call lucid astral traveling). I’m super excited to explore this avenue, and you all will hear about it for sure.
Blessings!
