5. What's your favourite piece of furniture and where did you get it?

Ooh probably my tv stand in the living room. It's real wood and heavy as fuck and also pretty and it was $50 from this old lady who was selling her house and she also tried to just give me like all the rest of her furniture but I didn't have anywhere to put the rest of it

orrr the headboard for the bed in the guest room hahaha. which is very specific but it's from my grandma's bed before she also sold her house and it has a bookshelf built into it with these little sliding doors and it somehow still smells like her house after 5 years here and it's very good.

I have been playing this extremely grindy game called bitcraft where you can build a town and a house and sail all over like 13 different regions with different biomes and other players' houses and towns and I've been farming the fuck out of rice for the last 20 days. that's all I do. pick rice, turn it into seedlings, plant the rice, sail around and collect sea treasure until the rice is done and then I redo the whole thing. I love it. it's so boring and I love it.

6. What books have you read in the last month?

I’ve finished the audiobooks for A Bone in His Teeth by Kellen Graves (again), Don’t Let the Forest In by CG Drews, and The River Has Roots by Amal El-Mohtar :)

And I’m working on the ebook Nothing to Know by Landry Brennan!

(and sort of the Wolfsong audiobook while I wait for my other audiobook from the library)

16. Most read trope this year? Was this intentional or unintentional?

I always read a lot of forced proximity, not necessarily intentionally, but I like characters who have tense or complicated relationships and that’s just a common way to get relationships past that point. And I do like it when they have the awe fuck I like that person now realization. Especially if it’s immediately followed with denial.

4. If you DNF any books, what was the pettiest reason you put a book down this year?

The vast majority of the time if I DNF a book, it's just because it's not for me so I don't have many petty reasons (un)fortunately. I am a pretty flexible reader with style and narrative choices. But I did DNF A Magic Steeped in Poison by Judy I. Lin because of the romance subplot. The mysterious boy was mysterious to the point that it pissed me off and their relationship was too awkward for me even in the very brief amount of time I read.

Buuut that being said sometimes romance is just not the vibe for me and it is YA, which is also hit or miss, so I might give this one a try again because the premise of the actual plot sounds really cool to me.
