In Finland the most common and well-known type of free, open huts are the open wilderness huts. The wilderness huts are meant for one-night stays. They are usually located in the northern and eastern parts of Finland, usually in roadless backwoods. There’s always a supply of dry firewood, a fireplace, and basic cooking-ware which is enough to shelter you from the elements and serves an excellent base for aurora hunting or just enjoying the wilderness.
