also it's fun rewatching bc vanessa really does feel like such a different character than act 2 vanessa and it really hit me with how much she wears a mask and how used to it she is at this point
GOD REWATCHING THE MOVIE AND UNDERSTANDING THE PAIN ON VANESSA’S FACE DURING HER CONVO WITH MIKE AS HE DESCRIBED HOW PERFECT HIS FAMILY USED TO BE…?
I think the wiki says it best
When we’re first introduced to Vanessa, she’s snarky yet smiley. She’s got an unnatural optimism against the sullen backdrop of Freddy’s. But as Mike (and especially Abby) get closer to their inevitable deaths, Vanessa starts losing that happy-go-lucky facade as she gets more desperate for Mike to take Abby and run.
I still mean it when I say that if it weren’t for Abby, I don’t think Vanessa would have chosen to betray her father for Mike. Mike was like every security guard before him. Dosed up on medication, barely making rent, and desperate for any kind of job he could get. I think the scene with Vanessa outside Mike’s house means so much more on the rewatch when you dissect her tone when she says “You didn’t tell me you had a daughter.” She was hesitantly okay with Mike dying but Abby coming into the equation swayed Vanessa’s choice. She couldn’t let another child die at Freddy’s, not after what’d happened to the MCI kids.
And the symbolism of Vanessa redirecting William’s anger towards her instead of Abby?? saying “I won’t let you hurt her too”?? I always think of young Vanessa as having died in those backrooms too. The Vanessa that left Freddy’s day was not the same as the Vanessa that entered. In a way, saving Abby was like Vanessa saving the person she could’ve become. Or i’m just pulling shit out of my ass. Idk.
Molly & finn doodle🗣
to lazy to finish it
woah
(Mashle spoilers!!)
Something that I find absolutely amazing about Finn’s character development-
From the very start it’s Finn who’s being saved. He’s the one who needs help, & it’s always been like this.
From when he was little, to the bullies, to any battle, it’s always ended in Finn being saved by another even if he stood his ground.
But when he starts using healing magic, now he’s the one helping others. Others depend on him to heal them so that they can fight.
Sure in the last battle Mash saves everyone, but for the other battles where Finn had healing magic, Rayne relies on him heavily. Infact, they relied on eachother. Making Finn Raynes equal in the battle ground. (Something he’d never thought he’d be)
I especially love the Delisaster fight wt Rayne bc Rayne still believes that Finn is incapable of protecting himself/others and is in need of protection. Only for him to end up needing to depend on Finn to save him instead.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the Finn needs to be saved like a princess trope, but I also love to igknowllage how much he’s grown :)
Yes, even wt his second line & healing ability’s he still needs help sometimes, but he’s become someone you can depend on and trust woulnt run out on you, which was something you couldn’t always say about Finn, expeshially battle-wise.
He’s not only physically stronger bc of his magic, but mentally stronger as well. He has a new found belief in himself, which was the main problem for him all along.
He’s become a person he can be proud of.
hello mart my lovely mutual
how are you this fine monday
HI FINN!!!!
im good im having fun!!! me and my cat are hanging out and im listening to some banger tunes yknow how it is!!! how are you????
Alright so I know we always talk about Catra and her fearing that she’ll become Shadow Weaver with Finn which is valid!!! But!!! What about Adora right after they get Finn (however that may be). Not only is Adora the most self sacrificing idiot ever but her anxiety and guilt complex? Sky high. Adora would bottle up every worry she was feeling because she had to be there for Catra until she just breaks down with her worries of messing up Finn or just being a terrible mom in general who is failing. Like??
