just took some of the goats on a walk. goat walking skills review!
Handsome Boots: 9.5/10. very good at going on walk. mellow, just meandered around and looked and ate things. half point deducted because he only went back into the pen when he decided he'd had enough walk.
Goaty Burger: 8.5/10. also quite good at walking. one and a half point deducted because he was difficult to harness and also a bit more stubborn than Boots. (also he kept trying to go out of the pen after we'd put him back in but that's less walking skills and more... standing skills I guess? either way irrelevant to the Walking Points)
Finn Finn: 3/10. incredibly against going out the gate once leashed EVEN THOUGH when he was not on a leash kept trying to sneak out. also just stood around the gate and yelled instead of walking. kept trying to climb over the fence to go back inside but when I actually tried taking him back into the pen was suddenly against it. admittedly he was suffering from lack of being near Chaco (his brother) so next time we'll have to take them out at the same time and see if he's better at it, but points still deducted.
Chaco, Moana, and Velvet: ?/10 we didn't take them out because a) we decided they'd had enough excitement for the day and b) we had other things to do.
overall conclusion: now my trousers smell like goats which is a bit annoying, but it was quite an entertaining experience. Zora and Zeus were excited to see the goats (especially Zora) but Boots and Goaty got nervous and went back before they got close enough for Zora to greet either of them.
