Thinking about how James just shows up in Sherlock's "overactive imagination" with no obvious intent from Sherlock. Which is to say. It's pretty clear that James gets invested in Sherlock basically from the moment they met, but here's where you get the first idea that Sherlock also cares about James

Big fan of the implication that Sherlock's tendency to see everything as a clue, everything as connected, really is not a safe headspace for him to be in, and it's only because his life is so fucked up that it works out for him any reasonable amount of time
