If firefly hadn't been prematurely cancelled, which character relationship/interpersonal dynamic on the crew would you like to have seen explored more?

My knee-jerk reaction is Simon and Inara. I think their gentle interaction in "Bushwhacked" is so great re: Inara connecting with him as someone who was basically in his position (Core-born kid on a smuggler ship) about a year earlier and the "Heart of Gold" conversations show me there is also chaos duo potential.
I think Simon might be able to help Inara discover what she's actually looking for by being out on the Rim. While the show never got the chance to confirm why she was there, I think a lot of people agree it's a sort of bucket list thing due to her illness storyline, but why the Rim? I think Simon having such a clear cut purpose for being there might have been a good anchor for Inara "finding herself" or even just a narrative tool for revealing to the audience her actual purpose/goal over the course of the show, and while the rest of the crew can give Simon a crash course in his new life, there is something about Inara knowing first hand where he's coming from that makes her uniquely suited to guiding him.
On a lighter note, my favorite headcanon/fanfiction relationship for them is one where:
they're absolutely besties
their boundaries with each other start to deteriorate rapidly because they both have huge nostalgia factor for each other and speak the same social language AND the wider societal conventions that once ruled their lives are no longer so present
He seems like clients she entertained back when she was aiming for House Priestess and just living her life on Sihnon (or even fellow young Companions)! She seems like the family friends or classmates and peers he had back on Osiris! Simon, let's get drunk and shit talk Mal! Inara, give me advice on this specific thing Kaylee wants to try in bed! Inara, did you see the Osiris society column on the Cortex today because the judge involved in that sex scandal threw up on me at a party once!
