Vanessa Walton was kind enough to bring her friend Brandon White over for an underwater shoot. He was amazing - such a great model and a really wonderful person to be around. You might now know this about Brandon, but he works out. Yes, it's true. I was really impressed with his very long breath hold, stamina, gracefulness, and how quickly he got cold (that means that he has no body fat). Yes, this is real. Like really real. Real enough to have made me really nervous. That sword and knife are real. Like really real. I've made of point of mentioning how difficult it is for two people to work together underwater. But being in motion, real action, with real weapons...heroic. And really really super cool to see in person. I have behind-the-scenes video but I'm afraid it shows a lot of clear answers about what one wears under a toga so I can't really share that. But you can enjoy this image. Oh, and I forgot to mention that this was Hudson White first ever underwater photo shoot and Seth Thompson hadn't done this in many years. Two absolutely amazing, gorgeous, talented and wonderful women I got to create art with. Working in a Mermaid tail is pretty hard, even when it's the easiest one to work in, but working with another person who is also in a Mermaid tail is the hardest. So I'm beyond impressed at what these two were able to accomplish together. This photo isn't finished but I wanted to share it in it's state of mid-edit. Had the VERY great pleasure of photographing Model Ophelia Overdose and Vanessa Walton underwater yesterday. Such a great day! Despite not having tons of experience underwater Ophelia was amazing. She took to being a mermaid like a fish to water. Finfolk's new Mythic mermaid tails make it super easy for first timers to become a mermaid and have a successful experience right away. They are by far the best mermaid tail I've ever worked with. And I'm not trying to help sell more of their tails - they are completely sold out for now and they certainly don't need my help. They are doing just fine on their own :) I'm just so impressed with what they have made. I was fortunate to work with Arlondriah Lenyéa at the beginning of the summer and was so happy to get her back at the end of summer to be a mermaid. She was incredible. I love working with dancers :) So strong and graceful.
