Josuke wishes he could protect you from everything, but this is not the case. He is heartbroken to see your pain and he desperately wants to help you through it. He is no stranger to grief, losing his grandfather was not easy and he knows what it’s like to feel that tragic loss. At first he’s unsure how he should approach comforting you, he knows that some like to grieve alone, but he just can’t see himself letting you sit there by yourself. It takes him mere seconds to work through this internal dilemma before taking a place at your side to pull you against him, rubbing your arm in a soothing manner. He doesn’t speak, just holds you close, resting his cheek on your head as you cry against him. When you quiet down he leans down to leave a gentle kiss on your shoulder.

“I know it’s no real consolation, but I’m so sorry babe. I just want you to know that I’m here - whatever you need,” he mumbles, nuzzling against your cheek as you nod. He wants to be your support as much as you are his. To him you are everything and the thought of you struggling to cope with grief and pain is too much for him to bear. He becomes your shadow, staying with you throughout the day and lending you a shoulder to cry on when you need it. He refuses to let go of your hand, knowing that even just the slight physical contact can give you an anchor. He doesn’t let you lift a finger, bringing you tea, pillows - hell, he’ll even sing to you if it will cheer you up even just a bit.

This is where you find yourself now, snuggled up against his chest while you both lie on the couch. He’s slowly running his fingers through your hair while he hums softly - any tune that comes to mind, especially those he knows you love. You close your eyes, focusing in on the sound of his voice, listening to the calm beat of his heartbeat to take your mind off of everything. With Josuke it feels as if the outside world fades away, letting in a new plane of existence. The attentive way in which he deals with your grief is endearing and you can’t help but fall for him even more as he dotes every ounce of his attention on making you feel better.

- Kakyoin knows what it feels like to not feel as though you’re in charge of yourself. He’s forever grateful that for him, it was only temporary - still, it means that he’ll be delicate and careful whilst he’s dealing with his s/o. - He’s the kind of boy who’ll do a lot of research into his s/o’s condition. He’s interested in learning new things and he retains information well; he spends a lot of time online and reading about his s/o’s diagnosis in order to get a better read on them and know how he can help. - He takes care of his s/o - if they’re not up to brushing their hair or remembering to eat, he’ll make sure that those things get done anyway. Ordinarily, he can be a little bit cool and haughty, but when it comes to someone he loves those things get swept to the side. He wants to take care of them. - He’ll do his best to encourage his s/o - having them get help, taking them to appointments, that kind of thing. He is a wall, holding their hand, acting as a barrier tethering them to the world around them. He can’t bear seeing someone slip away from him; he never had many friends, so his s/o is more important to him than he can really express. - During a crisis, he’s incredible. He keeps calm and level-headed, does his best to try and keep his s/o from doing anything that might hurt themselves, accepts that sometimes things said during a bad time aren’t really how his s/o feels . . . He’d do anything. He will do anything. 

- Diego’s rich and has an army of lawyers and doctors at his disposal. He knows what treatment of mental illness in the 1800s/early 1900s is like, and he’s absolutely not going to let that happen to his s/o. Doctors will be bribed and harshly spoken to if Diego is even remotely worried about the way they’re treating his s/o. - When Diego loves someone, he does all that’s in his power to protect them. He has not loved many people in his life, with the exception of his mother - all the more reason that he’s going to make sure his s/o is as happy and healthy as he can possibly manage. - He might worry about how it would impact his political career, but not for long - Diego is committed to getting to the top, and if that means smothering the whispers of someone who might let something unsavoury slip out, he won’t hesitate to do so. His personal business is his personal business. - He’s surprisingly gentle with his s/o; making sure they’re eating, making sure they’re taking medicines, trying to speak to them softly and calmly.

hello!! can i request HCS for josuke raising his own daughter alone? he's trying to be the best single parent ever,but his daughter always reminds him of his dead s/o so everytime his daughter asked about her mother,he's end up crying bcs he loved his s/o so much and still can't believe his s/o leaved him forever ;u; (feed me with sadness), -also it's okay if you don't want to write it tho!

This legitimately made me cry, but I love sad prompts like this. D:

Josuke has always wanted to be a dad, but he never imagined he’d be doing so on his own. He loves his daughter more than anything and he’d never let anything harm her. He is determined to be the best dad ever, even without the love of his life. Every time he looks at his daughter, he feels the loss. Her hair, eyes, and smile are a mirror of her mother’s. Their house is lined with pictures of just him and his wife. He is making his way down the hallway with the little girl on his hip when he pauses to look at one picture in particular. They’re standing in the snow in town, Josuke’s arm around her waist smiling, but not at the camera - at her belly. It’s not the only picture of them during the pregnancy, but it’s by far his favorite. His lip begins to tremble and he’s aware of a small hand on his cheek.

“Don’t cry daddy,” the little girl chimes, her lower lip pushing out. He smiles at her softly, wiping his eyes before sniffing. “It’s okay baby girl, daddy’s just thinkin’ too much,” he assures her, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. “How come there aren’t any pictures of me and momma?” she asks, nuzzling against his neck as he lifts her higher. “There are baby, see this one? We’re all in it, you’re right about there,” he explains, pointing at his wife’s stomach. “I was in momma’s tummy?” she asks, curiously. He nods, biting his lip. “She loved you so much honey, but you know she’s still watchin’ us right?” he questions, petting her hair back as she met his eyes. She nods, “From heaven,” she mumbles. “That’s right, sweetie,” he answers, tears forming in his eyes.

The little girl gasps, leaning in to wipe some tears away. “You miss mommy?” she asks. “Lots and lots, but I’m so happy to have you here little one,” he responds, pressing a kiss to her forehead. “I miss mommy too,” she whispers her tiny lip trembling, Josuke pulls her in for a hug. “I know honey, we’ve got each other though. Thankfully she left a little bit of herself behind in you,” he manages through his own tears, petting her hair. The little girl perks up, wiping her eyes on her sleeve before placing two tiny hands on his cheeks. “Don’t worry daddy, I’ll take care of you, just like you do for me,” she insists, a serious pout on her lips. He can’t help but laugh. He sniffs once more, wiping his own tears away. “That’s my brave girl,” he says, holding her close. No one could ever replace his love for his wife, but he can’t help but feel lucky to have such a wonderful memory of her in his daughter.
