Location: The Great Gates of Azulon
These gates guard the sea entrance that leads to the Fire Nation capital. A giant statue of Firelord Azulon stands in the middle of the water, flanked on either side by two dragon statues. When enemy ships are spotted, a net rises between the statues and ignites -- thus "closing" the gate in a wall of fire. Immediately after he took power, Azulon commissioned the gates to be built. But he couldn't decide on a name. After mulling over what to call these great gates, he finally decided to name them after himself. After all, he's the one who had the genius foresight to have these gates constructed.
Location: Royal Gallery
The gallery in the Firelord's palace includes family portraits of many past Firelords including Ozai, Azulon, and Sozin. Firelord Ozai used to come to the gallery when he needed time to think. He would walk down the hallway and stare at the portraits of his forefathers, hoping they would give him some guidance.
Location: Royal Plaza
Located in the harbor, just below the Capital, this plaza is an impressive structure where Fire Nation Royalty holds inspiring rallies for the people of the Fire Nation. This plaza is a powerful setting that represents the dominance of the Fire Nation, thus it is the perfect location for Ozai's sendoff and coronation as the Phoenix King.
Location: Mai's house
Located directly across from the Royal Palace, Mai's house is one of the many fancy homes inhabited by important Fire Nation citizens. Since her family is now in Omashu, Mai has the place all to herself.
Location: Fire Nation Capital
Located in a hollow volcanic crater, the capital city is home to Fire Nation royalty, including the Firelord and his family. At its center sits the Firelord's palace and surrounding it are numerous homes and shops that cater to the Fire Nation elite. Fire Nation commoners are not allowed to enter the capital city, except by invitation of the Firelord, which rarely happens.
Location: Village of Jang Hui
Located on the Jang Hui river, this unique Fire Nation village is made up of floating houseboats connected together. This once thriving fishing community is now struggling to survive because of the smelting factory polluting the river. Ten years ago, the Fire Nation army commandeered a plot of land and built a giant metal smelting factory on the river's edge. The factory spews its entire waste out into the river, polluting the water and destroying the village's only supply of food. These days, the local fishermen are lucky to find a few shriveled fish and some dirty clams. The shops in the center of town are mostly boarded up and closed. Without clean water, food, and medicine, many poor, sick villagers are left to suffer on the streets of this once prosperous town.
Location: Wulong Forest
Located on the western coast of the Earth Kingom, the Wulong Forest is where Ozai and Aang have their legendary battle. Particular to this forest are the hundreds of rock columns that tower over the landscape. Unfortunately, much of the forest was burned and destroyed by Ozai and his Firebenders during the first wave of the attacks.
