So far, we have Godzilla with Human Torch powers, a giant-sized Fire Rodan, and Giganto.

I decided to post these doodles while am working on a project that will take a while.

Kaijune 2026 Day 20: ASH

Kaiju: Fire Rodan

Lore:

There'd been whispers in the city near an active set of volcanoes that something was moving. The quakes were too often, too erratic to be nature adjusting.

That's when a terrifying screech shook the earth. Out of the charred, molten ashes of the Helion fault, something emerged.

It bore similarities to a monster that had died in a conflict with Gigan X, except this one was more similar in body shape to a hatzegopteryx, rather than a quetzalcoatlus.

Rodan, as they'd named it years ago, was a little smaller than the previous one. Scientists postulated that this beast was a long distant cousin of Rodan. So, the locals named it "El pájaro de fuego" or; The Fire Bird.

The media picked it up and dubbed this new beast "Fire Rodan."

Fire Rodan's temperament was similar to the original one. He wasn't cruel or malicious in his flight patterns, he just seemed to do as he pleased, which often lead to towns being wiped out by gusts of wind caused by his proximity to the ground.

Leo and Junior would intercept the new beast, their intentions being to make a new ally. Fire Rodan would show himself to be stubborn and resistant to being in a functional partnership... And then he met Zilla.

Fire Rodan almost seemed like he recognized Zilla, and in turn, he would follow the mutant iguana almost everywhere, his stance meek or reverent if Zilla looked in his direction.

Echoes of a time long past, perhaps even coded into their DNA, Fire Rodan recognized another king of the monsters and readily pledged his loyalty to him.
