I would've separated each version if it allowed more than twelve options :')
My personal fave is a tie between the earth temple and the fire sanctuary. They're both just. Like. I'd gladly play this in my class (they'd probably hate it cuz they have no music taste >:P)
My least favorite is Sky Keep. Maybe I don't listen to it often enough to get a liking for it, but like. Compared to the others? The only one that's kinda on the same level of "kinda mid" is skyview. But. Skyview Temple's theme actually fits the vibes of the temple y'know? Sky keep is kinda just. There. Idk. Ignore me.
You know how one of the biggest plot points for Ghiralink fan fiction is Ghira torturing Link for the location of the Gate of Time? To each their own and there’s certainly some wonderfully kinky shit there, but here’s why that doesn’t work.
Spoiler alert, but Ghirahim’s course of action is to simply follow Link around and then Link leads him to the gate without even realizing, right? And since Zelda was in an unbreakable seal, it’s not like Ghira could get to her anyway, not in ANY accessible time period. The boy ain’t stupid, he knows that shit, we all know Ghira’s a man with a plan.
So why offer Link a deal in the Fire Sanctuary? Why agree to “forgive and forget” in exchange for information he can acquire just as easily using other methods?
Because he was looking for an excuse not to fight Link.
Why? Was it affection? Fear? Pity? Maybe a combination of all of the above?
Idk, what do you guys think? Did I completely miss the mark here?
So uh I was smart and found this article that someone wrote complaining about SkSw HD, saying SkSw was the worst Zelda game and it shouldn't have been remastered and blah blah blah. Well anyway, (give the article a quick read if you want) I got really annoyed and therefore am going to defend SkSw, tearing up the five points the...person who wrote the article made (I'll list their points before I go into defense mode, so I guess you don't have to read the article if you don't feel like erupting with rage).
So here goes...
(The numbered titles are that person's opinion, NOT MINE. Mine is the text below the titles. Just makin sure ya know that :)
5. The Art Style Is Hideous (complete with a picture of Groose???)
I will be calm
WHAT. YOU IDIOT. SKYWARD SWORD HAS A BEAUTIFUL ART STYLE AND IT WAS BASED OFF IMPRESSIONISTIC PAINTINGS AND IT'S SO DANG PRETTY AND THE CHARACTERS ARE BEAUTIFUL YES EVEN GROOSE LIKE THIS GAME HAS SUCH A GORGEOUS STYLE AHAIJSKSJLKSJAS
4. Fi Makes Navi Look [Good]
Excuse you. Lemme explain something. Fi is amazing. SkSw was my first ever Zelda game and I appreciated her constant interruptions and Captain Obvious statements. And FI'S FAREWELL??? OH MY GOSH CAN YOU BREAK MY HEART ANY MORE? oh wait yes you can because Impa dies and then the game ends but anyway ghdjfjakdjd Fi is lovely! And awesome! And helpful! AND LEMME TELL YOU THIS, IF YOU SLANDER FI, I WILL PERSONALLY FEED YOU TO THE IMPRISONED.
Thank you.
3. The Motion Controls Hurt More Than They Help
I know a lot of people struggled with the motion controls, and I'm sorry if they didn't work for ya. Honest I am. But...surely...they didn't act up the entire game?? Like, they must have worked for SOME point? And anyway, it's way more interesting/involving to wildly wave your Wiimote around than it is to just...push buttons...
2. Repetition
Well...I can see where three Imprisoned fights can make you want to strangle someone. Or scream off a cliff. Or chuck your Wiimote at the TV. (Which is not recommended). And I can see that some people get annoyed by returning to the same three areas. But, the Imprisoned fights change each time, adding something new, and when you're done, you usually get to see something fun. (Like that...heartbreaking...sob-inducing cutscene with Zelda. Yeah. That's fun, all right). AND HEAR ME ON THIS PEOPLE. YOU LITERALLY GO TO NEW AREAS IN THE THREE PROVINCES OF THE SURFACE. Instead of running around Faron Woods and finding a new dungeon somewhere there, you get to explore Lake Floria and the Ancient Cistern. Instead of discovering some secret hole in Lanayru Desert, you get to sail around THE FRICKING AWESOME SAND SEA and explore the Sandship. Instead of wandering around Eldin Volcano, you go to the Fire Sanctuary and find new stuff there. And?? I know the Silent Realms and Song of the Hero and sidequests take you to the initial provinces again, but you're not doing the same thing over and over! (Also, guess what, YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THE SIDEQUESTS. You don't wanna revisit Lanayru Desert to find a colorful pinwheel thing that a creepy clown man dropped? YOU DON'T HAVE TO. So stop whining about it. Geez).
1. There Are Much Better Zelda Games To Remaster
Oh, COME ON. This is the stupidest, laziest, most ridiculous excuse. I'm not even going to discuss it.
~~~
Anyway. There's my defense rant (which is much, much shorter than it could be, believe me). But arhhdjkadddkjak. JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE A GAME DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU CAN HATE ON IT AND EXPECT EVERYONE ELSE TO HATE IT TOO AND THROW YOUR DUMB OPINION TO THE WORLD.
