your firefighter au is so cute!! One of our friends is ex-military and went into firefighting after retirement, so I like the idea that maybe Price is ex-military and "captain" is a holdover, but the other boys aren't vets :) I hope Simon gets A Break from puppy-dogging around after reader but I ALSO absolutely love when he's described as such a wet dog ("if he had a tail, it'd be wagging" IM MELTING COMBUSTING GETTING DOWN ON ONE KNEE FOR HIM) that's kinda pathetic and whipped... I just love big strong men who are smitten with their little partners. Ff! Simon makes me wanna smooch all over his sweet face... Let him know that I've got all sorts of burns from the kitchen, his face is still smoochable with or without his mask <3

The ex-military to firefighter pipeline is so real though. I grew up in and around a firehouse and met so many ex-military men who turned to firefighting. And I could see Price going a similar route. He's definitely the type who needs to be helping others in one way or another.

Firefighter!Simon Riley

ff!Simon Riley who's banned from driving the truck after he nearly hit every other car parked on the street on the way to a fire. He swears they were all parked incorrectly. Each and every one of them.

ff!Simon Riley who wears the mask to hide burn scars, both for himself and for the sake of those he pulls from the blaze.

ff!Simon Riley who's impossibly soft with the kids he meets on the job. There's a stash of little teddy bears in the back of all the trucks he bought with his own money to hand out whenever he meets a scared little kid.

ff!Simon Riley who's strong enough to carry their heavy metal ladders over his shoulder like they weigh nothing.

ff!Simon Riley who routinely has to stop Soap from flirting with the single moms they run into. He sometimes finds himself staring at the phone numbers that were shoved into his hands on the way back to the station.

ff!Simon Riley who walks the station dog before the sun rises every single day and always stops at the little bakery down the street for breakfast. He loves the pastries there, especially the ones handed over the counter by the cute worker that smiles at him and fusses over the dog every morning.
