Summary: The Cultivation World is Old. Filled with legends and stories about terrible Monsters and perpetrators of great feats. Some of which are lost to time even as new ones are written and rewritten, unceasing as the flow of the changing tides. With tales of the infamous Yiling Laozu being but a recent addition. Three years after the Sunshot Campaign life has moved on. Wei Wuxian is still the Jiang First Disciple, and feels as ineffective as ever. Still haunted by the dead, his own secrets, and his failing relationships; still cursed for the red eyes he sometimes wears. An unplanned occurrence shakes him from the stupor that his life has become. But the dangerous thing about wakeful eyes is that they sometimes land on things that they weren't looking for. - Old Summary (to help find fic/story still same): Cultivators say that Wei Ying is a monster, and he's beginning to agree. But that's ok so long as his family is safe, that will always be the most important thing. Unplanned pregnancy, intrigue, mob mentality, mysterious past/abilities. Siblings live, Jiang Cheng is a good brother, Jin Zixuan is alright to. Diverging AU, combo Mo Dao Zu Shi (novel) and The Untamed (spinoff TV show). Canon typical violence. LZ/WWX.

No one is born evil. Xue Yang was balanced on a precipice before the Jins found him. What if he'd fallen in a different direction?

Lol :) It is a diverging au set before xue yang does anything unforgivable. He's more chaotic neutral, balanced on a precipice. Whichever way he falls (to the darkness and the jins, a family that could never be & never was; or something better, truer, brighter) depends on the choices he makes from here.
