Mal declared in the pilot episode, "We have done the impossible, and that makes us mighty." This is such a great motivational quote... I strongly suggest that everyone watch Done the Impossible (a documentary about Firefly fandom).

30 DAYS OF FIREFLY: Character You Relate To Most [9/30]

"Doctor could be called a lot of things, Coward wouldn't be one of them though." -Mal

Yep, Simon Tam. Much like my reasoning for relating to Buffy... I'm a fighter.

Though Simon is a different fighter than Buffy, he still believes in fighting for what he believes in and especially for people he loves and cares about; both fighters nonetheless. Giving up is not an option, Simon has an intense dedication to his sister, a similar dedication that he begins to develop towards Kaylee and Serenity. On a more surface level we're quiet, smart, and confident (more or less). We don't loosen up on the spot, we need some time to warm up. But that's when you get to the good stuff.

Because of our intense dedication to certain individuals and our process of logic and over-thinking we don't always make the "right" decisions or say the "right" things. We can come off as judgmental or even selfish. Socially awkward if you will... Cheers for being sarcastic asses! We also like to think that we're more sophisticated than we actually are; growing up in a fairly sheltered environment with A LOT of expectations really doesn't help. 

But we're fighters and we love wholeheartedly. There's no denying that.

Firefly Challenge Day 8: Favorite Scene

This is *such* a difficult decision for me. I really cannot express the difficulty in this. But ok, I will have to say the scene of Inara crying. It is so incredibly intimate and I love how it goes from craziness in the house where Inara is fronting her usual strong self, and then the next time you see her, she's crying in a room by herself. The artistry involved is just too much. I love it.

It's a huge toss up between that scene, the Inevitable Betrayal scene, the scene where Jayne is recruited, and the Out of Gas ending scene. They're all brilliant and if I really sat here I could come up with a million more, but every time I think of watching Firefly, I want to watch Heart of Gold for this one scene.

Firefly Challenge Day 5: Quote that made you cry the most

In the episode Out of Gas at the very end when Mal suddenly asks "you all gonna be here when I wake up?" I just love it so much because it really shows how much he honestly loves and cares for his crew. Especially after watching how the whole crew was assembled, it's just the perfect line to end the whole episode.
