Sinotyrannus was a large basal proceratosaur from the Jiufotang Formation of Liaoning, China. It was the largest theropod from the region, and lived in the Aptian age of the Early Cretaceous, about 120 million years ago. It was much larger than most other contemporary predators, about 10 meters long and 3 meters high, and had very few predatory rivals. More material will need to be found, however, before more can be said about this animal.
