i'm so glad the fireside chat gave us alex ward back, thad was terrifying and wrong on too many levels
Alex saying that Occtis is going to be experimenting on himself now that he’s undead… oh that’s so fun. What a cool character concept. Undead necromancer who is scientifically fascinated with his own undeath. There is sooo much potential for weird body horror and psychological horror there. I’m so excited.
He looks so good
I really enjoyed the All Crew Fireside Chat, and would strongly encourage everyone to give it a watch. Not only for the cool behind the scenes details, but for the reality check of how many people and how many hours it takes to produce things fans on the internet will often conceive of as effortless or “well, just stick a camera in front of them and hit record, what’s so hard there?”
I think everyone should hear Marisha talking about frame rates when designing the set and Max explaining that a 45 second shirt bit in an ad took him 2 weeks of work and Ashly discussing how the cast couldn’t hear each other for the first 15 minutes of the London live show. For fandom enrichment.
as someone who agrees with Alex's take that the whole "rebel child of an evil family who is inexplicably morally righteous" shtick is lame (*suspiciously pointed coughing that I shan't elaborate on*), I do really appreciate Alex more or less confirming that Occtis is still very much a Tachonis even if he doesn't like his family. we've seen it in bits with Loza asking Thaisha if she was sure about him given that the undead fox makes her think that "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." or how when Brennan asked Alex what Occtis thought death would be like he fell back on what his family had told him. but this confirmation that this is something Alex is intentionally baking into Occtis is definitely hyping me up even more for his character. I can't wait to see him start doing fucked up necromancer stuff and just blink his glowing eyes when he gets hit with that -10 approval from the party like "oh, do we not like that?"
