So she can get that well-paying job "in her field as a writer" with all those high-paying positions available to young adults with creative writing degrees. 

She doesn't have a job. 

I just ... I thought I was desensitized to AMP. I still don't know if they're pulling a massive trollfest, though firework-comic seems pretty sincere most of the time. But she's ... I just ... actually I guess the biggest shock is she wrote an entire paragraph begging for cash without a single mention of how everyone would donate if it was a straight-white-cis-male asking. That's actually probably the most shocking part, is that other than some vague references to "omg my childhood was so hard that I have to be an unemployed college student now," there aren't even any oppression complexes inherent. 

Oh, also, right below that and I'm too lazy to put that in another post, "I am not going to cater to anyone's needs if they don't cater to mine, lolmisandry bawww male tears lol I hate all men haha"

"It’s not about doing it if you have to in order to save money. The submission/question was about people who do it even though they can still afford to buy the food. 

I’m with you- I’d be too scared of getting sick, and without health insurance? I can’t do that.

Part of me is glad that food is not being wasted. The other part is disgusted. Very disgusted. If you are well off, please buy your food in a store or grow it yourself or fucking something else. Don’t be ridiculous. I see homeless families digging in every trash can for cans they can turn in for change so they can eat. You’re not them.

Note: if anyone ever has something they don’t need—I had a lot of ugly, ugly purses I never used that someone gave me—and you’re moving or just want to get rid of it, just set it neatly out on the corner, not in the trash, if your area allows you to do this. Someone will pick it up and be glad.

Way to be offensive. First off, I do not climb in the "Dump" smelling of "Cat litter" and "Bacon fat"

Actually, most of the food is right on top and doesn't even require you to step into it. If you browse through my photos, most of the produce is left in boxes or bags together, not touching other food. Second, it isn't about affording food. Can I afford food? Yes. But not as much as I do supplementing myself with diving. I can eat food I couldn't before and not worry about not paying one bill to pay for food. It is about eliminating waste, and yeah, saving money and ecosystem. If you saw how much food is being wasted on a daily basis, it might change your mind on who the "gross" ones are in this situation. 

Second, it is VERY rare for someone to actually get sick from eating dived food. I have actually never met one, and no one in my family has. If you knew ANYTHING about the movement, there are a set system of rules and knowledge. If you do get meat, make sure it is still frozen. And guess what? If you are smart and handle and cook the meat the way meat should be, there are not bacteria. Too scared? Stay away then. How is blemished produce going to make you sick? How is a bag of lettuce expired 1 day? Or how about cereal, still enclosed in the bag, that is tossed because the box is damaged? I have no insurance either but because I use proper handling methods (washing, drying, storage) I don't have to blink an eye. Of course, even though you mod a couple privilege blogs you still can't check your own privileged. Grow your own garden? Mhm, that is possible and affordable to everyone of course. Buy the food? When raspberries cost 2.00 a package and about 50 of them where thrown away a few weeks back? I couldn't never buy them before. Now I am indulging in them. Organic breads and other food? Check. I am living of the waste of privilege  and you are still assuming people can buy it. 

And to top it all off, now that I am supplementing my intake with dived food, I can actually go to the farmers market and buy local and organic items. I've been having delicious coffee I haven't had in god knows when. Not because I am taking from others; because I am taking what they threw out. 

You know what else we do? We take the food and set it aside for other divers, and that includes cans too. We don't horde food. We take only what we need and leave the rest, so nobody is going hungry and we aren't taking from someone who needs it. This actually includes cans. And we have actually worked with some of the stores to eliminate their waste and to donate more of the food. And I find it hilarious that you would rather see people collect cans for money (a strenuous and consuming job) instead of taking free and perfectly fine food. I will make sure to tell my fellow divers to ignore the 20+ lbs of organic food in front of them and instead get the cans that maybe will give them a couple bucks for food.

You are only disgusted because you are making illusions to something you haven't actually taken the time to see. 

You obviously have no clue what it is to be freegan or what actually constitutes a dive. Shaming the community by using derogatory remarks goes to show that you are well past your days of being able to mod blogs that are about checking your rights and privilege.
