Is it possible to love a show so much after one episode?

Phew! We are 8 months pregnant and doing well! Ready for the baby to be here! Hope you all are having good dives!

Hello! I just recently moved to Phoenix. I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction to which stores in the Phoenix area you've had the best luck diving at? I had great luck at a few Trader Joes in Los Angeles. Thanks!

It's been a few months, but Trader Joes in Tempe (Mcclintock) is no longer that great..not only do a lot of people go there but the employees figured what is going on and was staying late and calling cops. Both TJ in Scottsdale are a bust due to the plaza security, and one is next to a car dealership that has security too. TJ in mesa sucks because it is located next to a Indian Food place and you have to step around all that thrown out food to get to packaged stuff. AJ fine foods I've heard can be good, haven't experienced it just heard, Most sprouts have locked dumpster, Fry's is 100% locked. Honestly, my most reliable store was Safeway so check ones around you. And the Whole Foods tempe is unlocked (The other WF are locked) but it was hit or miss!

So I your wondering where I have been I have good news! I am 4 months pregnant! And since finding out 2 months ago I just don't feel safe climbing in/out of dumpsters since most of them required them me pulling mysef on my stomach. That mean this blog will def be slow for a long time. Not only because of the baby but diving seems impossible anymore. A lot of stores have caught on and increased security, added locks, ect. Hopefully I shall return soon! Happy diving!

My trader joes does not either, they are awful and threatning. Which is why they lost my business 100%

I feel like I have to give up diving.

I can't dive in Scottsdale currently because anyone who lives here know there are cops everywhere and I have expired tags. So I feel like I could go diving once I fix that (It is a long story why they are expired)

But here in tempe/mesa/chandler...it is all SECURITY. I just don't have the schedule to go at 2am. I have full time work and I am taking 19 credits at ASU. But even some of my diving friends say they are seeing more and more security in the wee hours.

So all you AZ freegans out there be careful.

How do you know if the food you get out of diving isn't there because it was recalled or had gone bad? I might want to do this myself, but I don't know how to go about doing this.

I always check to see what foods are on recall (For example, Trader joes peanut butter) and most of the time your just have to remember that the best buy dates are NOT telling when a product goes bad..it is when it cannot be "fresh" as customers except. Produce is a given, and that is what i mostly get. The other things I check smell, consistency, packaging, ect. There really isn't that much of a science to it and I think people worry more about it then they need to! :)

hello!! im hungry right now and i wanted to know what the best times are to go dumpster diving because you seem to be so good at it this would be my first time and im totally ready to go i just dont know when.. and is it better to go in the day or at night for you and if you go in the day what is it like for you ?? please and thank you for answering..if you do lol!!!

Just at night after closing :) It is a bit too dangerous to go when they are open, but even then it is close to closing. That seems the only time they throw things away :)

Where does it come from? The produce comes from Mexico and transported to the different produce sheds in Nogales, Arizona. These facilities handle the distribution of the same to the different supermarkets and food warehouses throughout the United States and Canada.

These are produce that might not be "Fit" for shelves (blemish, ect) but are perfectly good! Great way to continue to save our food!

How did you get started diving?? I want to (located in Knoxville) but I have no idea...

I heard about it, and decided to just go on my own. I mapped out a couple stores around me, and "dove" in!

It takes awhile to figure out what places are good and which ones aren't though :)
