anyways, it turned out to be a huge disappointment. so I tried to fix it.

New Years/Fireworks whump, anyone??

The whumpee being in captivity so long that eventually a year goes by and the whumper has a party for them (it’s pretty much just so that whumpee knows their new home is with the whumper)

The whumper entrusting the fireworks display to whumpee, and they fumble with the lighter/matches and burn themselves, or catch their clothes on fire. Maybe they ruin the display and is severely punished later for it (by being burned?)

Whumper sets up a firework display but it ends up tilted, and it flies right into Whumpee’s chest, burning their skin and leaving a mangled scar. Maybe it explodes, causing massive burns

“What are those bangs? Fireworks?”

“No, those are gunshots from outside.”

“What are your guards shooting at?”

“Your rescue team.”

Does Val like fireworks?

Loves them. He enjoys the shows, especially when they do the really neat designs. The more intricate, the more Val is starry eyed at them.
