Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Red, blue, and yellow food coloring gel. Edible silver star sprinkles. Edible gold star sprinkles.
Instructions: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and beat until well combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until the dough comes together. Divide the dough into three equal parts. Add red food coloring to one part, blue to another, and yellow to the third part. Knead each portion until the colors are well incorporated. Wrap each colored dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Take a small amount of each colored dough and gently press them together to form a ball, creating a marbled effect. Place the marbled dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them. Gently flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass. Sprinkle the edible silver and gold star sprinkles on top of the cookies. Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy your spectacular fireworks cookies!
