When you get this ask, list 5 things that make you happy then pass it on to the last 10 people who reblogged from you
Thanks for this!
1. My family and friends
2. The movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s with a cup of tea (typically honey and lavendar).
3. The smell of rain on the summer
4. Exercising (even though getting to my workout is typcially a struggle)
5. Crafting (even if it isn’t always pretty).

Is it too late to join the 365 days of yoga challenge?!
NO WAY! In fact, IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO START THIS CHALLENGE.
Officially, I'll start tracking the tag #FG365YOGA and posting my own poses on Jan 1st, but this challenge can be started ANYTIME.
It's really all about YOU and your practice, so tailor it to your life. Can't post daily? Fine -- post once a week. Can't do some of the poses? Fine, change them to something that fits your practice. Want to concentrate on improving some different areas? No problem, again, just change out some of the poses for ones you prefer.
It's all good!
23, 30 and 32 - or if you've answered them, choose three you haven't! :)
Thank you!!23: Describe the release of alanine by the muscle for use in gluconeogenesis- Okay so, alanine can be made in the muscle during metabolism of "amino acid skeletons." Essentially, an alanine is just pyruvate with an amino group where the keto group is (NH3 instead of a double boned oxygen on the middle carbon). So, alanine can go back to the liver where it can be deaminated back into pyruvate and can enter the gluconeogenesis pathway!30 and 32 I've done, so I'll choose another couple: 11 and 12
11: Amino acids are primarily catabolized in the liver, although muscles can catabolize the BCAAs- this is actually why taking BCAAs can help muscles not catabolize themselves (it will catabolize what is in the blood stream first before degrading itself)
12: The deamination process: An amino acid reacts with alpha-ketoglutarate to form glutamate plus another type of molecule- in aspartate tat's oxaloacetate and in alanine that's pyruvate. This is called transamination. Once glutamate is formed, it is oxidzed by NADP or NAD to form a ketimine intermediate. This ketimine intermediate and water react with a dehydratae to form a carbon "sekeleton" and free ammonia(who wants to learn what happens to the carbon skeleton and the ammonia ?!?) :P
