So I decided to make a Halloween quilt 🎃

A couple weeks ago I found some needle felting supplies and I've been having a lot of fun. Decided to try making something a liiiittle out of my skill range but I'm happy how it turned out. It was a fun learning experience.

Well it took 5 months, but I finally finished the family portrait I was making for my mother just in time for Mother's Day this weekend!

I can not believe. I am ~about~ a fourth (maybe third) of the way through a blanket I’m knitting and I went to buy more yarn off the website just to find out they have discontinued the type of yarn I’ve been using.

So I had to buy a different kind of yarn which also means a slightly different color. And now I just get to pray that they’re similar enough in color and texture so that this blanket doesn’t look like shit.

Film is something I really want to be a part of. I want to do small and large productions throughout my life and I want it to be how I earn my living. Film is my dream, and hopefully things really start to pick up for me soon. I have a feeling they might.

This is the final edit of my first “professional-ish” creation. Really, all I mean by that is that we got to film in a classroom and make it look like a courtroom setting. I’m used to filming inside a house and by myself, so working with others inside of a place that wasn’t my house made it feel like I was moving up in the world of film.

Another thing I should note is that I’m not in this whatsoever(besides my voice used as voiceover for certain parts) so this was my first time actually being able to direct a cast and be in full control of the camera. Even in the past when I made videos with my best friend, I was in every single video, so I was acting and directing at the same time. I will admit, it does become overwhelming from time to time depending on the project, but I love doing it.

Now, being able to just direct and that’s it, OH BOY LET ME TELL YOU. It felt like a HUGE weight had been lifted off of my shoulders. Will I continue to make all of my videos without me in them from now on? Nope, but it was a great experience nonetheless. Of course, I’ll have to mostly direct one day when I’m up in the ranks, but for now, I love creating what I do, and I hope you guys will too.

The equipment I work with is a JVC AVCHD Camera, Pro Studio Lighting, and Final Cut Pro. It’s not the most top of the line equipment, but you’ve gotta start somewhere, right?

To wrap this up, let me explain this video for some that may come across it and not completely understand everything that’s going on. It’s a play/parody on “The Apology of Socrates” by Plato. In the book, Socrates is on trial for things like corrupting the youth, and going against religion. Meletus is one of his accusers as he is the plaintiff in the video. In the book, the final decision comes down to Socrates receiving the death penalty.

I sewed a dress all by hand and for a first attempt at hand sewing I think it turned out pretty well (i hand sewed because my 50 year old sewing machine just randomly broke)
