Hi! My mum is finally letting me get my first full Lolita co-ord, and as I’m on a budget, I decided to go for all Bodyline. I’d like your advice on whether or not all these things go well together! So, the set is as follows (click through for links please!!):

Blouse (white)

Shoes (white- Also the link is weird, so I’m talking about the ones that say SHO296)

Socks

Skirt- there are two possibilities. One and Two. (Both pink)

It all looks fine. It’s very simple though. Between the two skirts, perhaps choose the one that you feel you would more easily be able to accessorize. If you were to get L303 you could go with strawberry and chocolate themed accessories and if you went with L482 you could do bunny and princess themed accessories.

How much do you think my first full coord will cost? Being the most money saving I can?

I really can't tell you that without more information. Since it's your first coord you have to keep in mind that you're not only going to need the obvious skirt and blouse, or OP, or JSK and blouse, but you're also going to need a good petticoat, bloomers, socks, shoes, and accessories. It can depend on where you want to buy it from, how elaborate you want the coord to be, how much shipping will cost to wear you live, and other factors. Instead of me trying to give you an estimate I think the better thing to do would be to search around and put together a coord that you like, making a list of the items and how much they cost, and then calculate how much it will be when you know what you want.

Hello! First off, I wanted to say I absolutely love your blog! I'm hoping to get some help with my first major Lolita purchase because I'm not really sure where to start. I debating between finding something non-patterned in pink and white tones or alternatively, something patterned (I especially like star patterns) but I'm not sure if I'd like a full dress, or a skirt and blouse. I'm fairly limited on budget and would love something $50 or under (If that's possible?) Any help would be great!

There are two ways you can look at it. You could get an OP which would save money up front because you wouldn’t have to buy both the skirt and blouse. Or you could buy a skirt and blouse that are both fairly versatile that you can use in multiple coords down the road (the skirt with different blouses, the blouse with different skirts and JSKs) which will save you money in the future. A good idea would be to get a white blouse to get a good amount of future use out of it and then go with a pink skirt, be it printed or not. Just as one example, this skirt has a lot of cute details in the way it’s made, but it’s also fairly simple in that it doesn’t have any prints or patterns. You could use it with a number of different colored blouses (white, sax, lavender, pink) and because there’s no print you can use a lot of different themed accessories with it. You could definitely use it with a lot of star accessories for a star themed coord, you could also do it with animals, carnival themes, cakes and sweets, etc. You could also do something like this which gives you the star pattern and can also be worn with a number of different blouses. However it’s less versatile because of the specific theme of the print and it’s a little above your desired price.

Anyways, all of its from bodyline, and I'm getting the JSK in blue/sax, as well as the shoes, and the blouse in beige (just because the white one is out of stock)

The petti is classical puppets a-line, but I'm not sure if i should get a cupcake petti or an a-line for this dress

This is going to be my first lolita coord, and its meant to be somewhat casual. Opinions? thank you!

I feel like the dress would work okay with either style of petticoat, so I would choose whichever you think you would use the most often. (If you're planning to wear Sweet Lolita the most often I would suggest swapping it out for a bell-shaped petticoat because it's more common.) My only other suggestion aside from adding accessories would to be to change the blouse for a white one. I don't think the beige would look very good with the dress because of the white in it and it's more of a Classic blouse anyway.

Also, for future reference, to make sure it doesn't turn out so small, I would recommend using Polyvore for future coords rather than paint.
