I mail envelopes full of poems
To myself in dreams
Just for the postmark.
J’envoie des enveloppes pleines de poèmes
À moi-même dans les rêves
Juste pour le cachet de la poste.

Ausgabetag: 06.10.1981
First day of issue stamp & envelope. Walt Disney - September 1968.
Unique space cover from 1961 (by soviet artist Vasily Zavyalov)
US Post Office First Day Covers 1978 - 1984
In a semi-hidden corridor at my office
Just added to the personal collection: a 1959 First Day Cover of Eileen Mayo's platypus stamp, with matching embossed woodcut art! Mayo was the first woman commissioned to design stamps in Australia, and designed all 6 in the 1959-62 Australian Animals series (also pictured here).
A First Day Cover from Sept 9, 1969 commemorating the Apollo 11 moon landing. There’s a post stamp from the July 20 moon landing & a beautiful 10 cent stamp featuring Neil Armstrong stepping down upon the lunar surface. So many great space-themed stamps were designed by the USPS during the space age.
