And so it begins!

As of today, January 27, I am officially no longer pre-T!! I got my first mini-dose kind of by surprise, tbh - I had scheduled today assuming it would just be a consult and I would sign the forms and I’d need labs or something, but after my doctor went over everything, she said I would be getting my first shot today!

It was only a quarter dose, mostly to make sure I won’t have any reactions, and I’ll be back next week for a bigger dose and then every two weeks after that. I have appointments scheduled with nurses to teach me how to do the injections the first few times, and then I’ll be off and running!

I was a little nervous going in, but I have been just bursting with excitement all day long. I can’t quite believe it’s really happening!

Fallen from a Night's Dream (Starter for keith-the-pardoner)

The humid air of Darkroot Garden weighs heavily this evening. The jungle is both still and anxious, with imperceptible activity all around. The towering trees creak softly in the gentle, chilly breeze.

Not far from the tower connecting the garden to the Undead Parish, a resounding "thump" echoes for a moment; the sound of something large landing in the moss and leaves. Then silence. As oppressive as the jungle air.

A young woman lies sprawled out on the ground, bleeding heavily from her side. She shudders occasionally as she slips in and out of consciousness. A rogue lock of dark brown hair hangs down over her tightly closed eyes; the rest of her hair is tied into a fist-sized bun, its perfectly groomed shape destroyed and frayed by her recent encounter. Near her right hand lies a shattered rapier, and by her left a short, dazzlingly white branch. Both her branch and her pale skin strike a sharp contrast against the dark ground of the forest. Her jacket, a fine leather one made for combat, is in ruins, leaving her wound and much of her body open to the air. This seems to be her only wound-- the rest of her armor is untouched.

She slowly curls onto her uninjured side, arms lying uselessly in front of her face. Her breathing grows very shallow.
